Back on US soil

Hello hello and a warm GREETINGS from Miami Beach!

I've missed you guys! Have you missed meeeee?
​I feel like it's been so long. I've never gone without posting for such a length of time! I feel like such a flake - even though I am the farthest thing from a flake that you will probably ever come by.

As you know I was out of the country and without and wifi of cell service. And since Elisa is on a hiatus (I do not know until when) there was no one to post and publish everything that I've been writing to you guys...

Yes I have indeed been writing to you guys. I would sit out on the balcony and type away - knowing that it may not get posted until a later date (once I get back home) but you will indeed be able to follow along on the entire journey - which was WONDERFUL!

And now (actually as of July 8th) we are back on US soil and in Miami for the MLB All Star Game and Festivities. WooHoo!  We are not in the original hotel that I had booked way back in September of 2016 - that was a whole to do - which I will share and explain to you once back in SoCal.

Tons going on and having a ton of fun. But I must say that although the city of Miami has know about this major event taking place within their city for quite some time, sadly they are so very unprepared! 
The traffic is a huge mess, and the parking is out of control. There is construction everywhere and like a local said to us yesterday Miami is a great city but it is one of the worst when it comes to planning ahead.

Thus leaving us and thousands upon thousands of other fans with our hands up in the air as what to do and how to do it when it comes to getting to any of the events.

Let get on with some Daily Scoop...
Yesterday after being woken up from our slumber in the middle of the night due to a fire alarm that evacuated the building (oh that is always fun - not). This type of thing has happened to me one too many times and that is waaaaay too many for my liking. 

Once we were allowed back into the hotel and back to our rooms (which wasn't really all that long anyhow) I soon fell back asleep. But now since my initial sleep was disturbed, I didn't feel the urgency to wake up to see sunrise - which was my plan. Oh well maybe another morning. Instead I woke up and was reading to head out to lay on the beach - DID I JUST WRITE THAT?!

As you know I am far from what anyone would consider a fan of laying on the beach - but there are a few (and only a few) beaches that I have made the exception for and Miami Beach is one of them!!

So there we were relaxing on our beach chairs and under our oversized umbrella until it was time to move on to the next thing. And yesterday was about the Fan Fest and the MLB All Star Sunday Legends and Celebrity Softball Game at Marlins Park.

After the stress of driving and parking (and Dave was doing the driving) we finally made it to the event. It was plenty of fun, but of course since it was a Sunday it was also rather crowded. Since I have tickets to go everyday I opted that this would be a short sampler visit and that we'd go back today!

After the Fan Fest we hustled in the extreme heat (omg we've had some amazing weather but yesterday was AWFUL) to get back to the car - of which no one knew where it was! 
I was on the phone with the airline when we parked and exited the car and had asked my gang if they knew where we were - they claimed they did. Well after checking a few lots we finally found the car and were now running late for our late lunch!

Immediately after lunch we bopped over to Marlins Park with snacks and waters in hand only to be told that we could not bring snacks into the park - nor could we bring multiple camera lenses - all of which I have never had a problem with before and always bring to games and past MLB All Star games as well. Has something changed or was the security guy a numb nut?

So needless to say that I was a bit frazzled once we were finally in the stadium. But we still managed to walk around and check things out - this was my first visit to this Marlins ballpark.

Then it was time for a pre-game concert by Flo Rida and then the game! 

After all that fun we headed back to the car, to pick up some dinner, and back to the hotel.

I was hoping to head back out onto the beach (only steps away) this morning - but it was raining, so I will try for it again tomorrow.

Time to go wake the kids up and for us to head back out to the Fan Fest and then the Home Run Derby later tonight!!

It sure feels good to be back. See ya'll tomorrow,
