Totally Travelin' TuesdayHey!! Glad you are checking in today. Had a fabulous day yesterday - ran a few errands, did some research on Tuscany for upcoming Italy Trip next month and the weather couldn't have been nicer. I spent some time down by the dock doing some writing in the car. With the windows open, the breeze was incredible! It was clear sailing until I went to pick up Gianna and Kelsey from their first day of Horseback Riding Camp. A few minutes before I arrived, Gianna was washing and grooming her horse All Star, when he came loose from his halter and was moving around, and accidentally stepped on her right foot; her big toe to be exact. Thankfully, it was not broken and wasn't even that painful after putting ice on it and resting for while. However, we think the pressure on her foot from All Star caused her previously injured ligament in her foot (from a fall on the ice over the winter) to get aggravated and she was experiencing a great deal of pain all night. So, the bottom line is that she will not be riding today in order to rest it. Please send positive wishes that it feels better. I'd hate for her to go through months of physical therapy again for this foot. On a more upbeat note, Tanya and I love Travelin' Tuesdays and blogging about our upcoming trips. Check out Part 9 of our New Mexico Road Trip. Today we are featuring Sandia Peak, one of the sites we will be visiting while in Albuquerque. In addition, my girlfriend Denise secured tickets for us today for the Opening Night Party and Tech Awards at the 2014 Long Island International Film Expo for this Friday night (July 11th). Gonna be a fun girls night out! My daughter Rebecca will also be coming with us. Her freelance make-up business working on films has been exploding and this will be a great opportunity for her to network! This festival is 9 days of non-stop independent films and takes place in Bellmore, Nassau County this year. If you love movies, this is definitely an event you will not want to miss. Check out the link above for more information. Is anyone else loving' these long summer days?!! I'm cherishing each one as I know I will be longing for the extended hours of sunshine come the fall and winter when it starts getting dark at 4:30 in the afternoon. Wishing you a sunshiny day! -E | Still in LimboAfter yet another travel meeting for the IPC last night, it again seems like the trip to Orlando in February 2015 is a go! Which is great, although it's not 100% confirmed yet, because we have yet to reach our minimum number of performers. Why? Well because there were quite a few associates missing from last nights meeting. An email blast went out this morning to hopefully get us some answers. Until then we continue to wait... I totally feel like I'm in limbo, because if the trip is on then of course we are going to go (even though it is right smack in the middle of my ski season). But either way, I need to start planning my calendar for the entire winter and secure dates for my other trips. Before I can do any of this, I really just need an answer. Only 6 days to go and then we will be on our way back to NY! So far I've packed 1 of 3, hopefully I'll get another one of us taken care of today. I ordered Cosette some bottoms yesterday from Justice (her favorite), so I'll wait for those to arrive (tomorrow) before packing her stuff. Just for the record - I already did the same for Dominic, and his new items are already here. Being fair is very important to me, so it's always a balancing act over here! During the 6 days that lead up to our trip, we've got plenty going on over here. Tomorrow is my brother Michael's birthday - not sure exactly what the plans are, but at some point I think he is going to do some pizza eating contest! Friday is date night (our last one until September)! Saturday is my sister Jet's birthday, and the kids also have a performance that evening for the Hemi Conference, which is being held at one of the Disneyland Hotels. And on Sunday we have tickets to go see: The Manor – Murder and Madness at Greystone Mansion (an interactive play inspired by the turbulent story of the Doheny family and the sensational events that took place at Greystone Mansion in 1929). I'll be sure to write a review on this one! Just because there is a lot going on this week, that doesn't mean the rest of our everyday events come to a halt. So with all of the fun stuff on top of all of the typical stuff our days are filled with, this week will likely fly by and be non-stop! So as for today, although I have to continue packing, figure out what to get Jet for her birthday, work on some upcoming trips, prep Throwback Thursday, fit in my exercise, and take Dominic to 2.5+ hours of classes, on top of cooking for the clan...it actually seems like it might be my last mellow day for a while! OUCH, getting stepped on by a horse is no fun! It's been years since I've had my days on getting my feel squished by these massive animals, and I know it HURTS! Poor Giana :( Hope you're feeling better very soon!! Hope that each of you have a Terrific Tuesday! -T |
