Summer Fun & Winter PlanningHowdy! Hope your day is terrific! Is it me or does anyone else feel like this week is going fast? I can't believe it's Hump day already! Last night we had a lovely time at the Garden City pool. Kelsey and I were invited by friends to be their guests for Movie Night. One evening per week they feature a different movie and this week it was Frozen. Everyone spreads out all over the lawn with blankets and even pillows to enjoy the featured film. This week Frozen was playing and boy was it packed! Of course, the pool and playground are open as well, and since Kelsey and her friend Eileen had each seen Frozen at least a dozen times, they were running back and forth making their rounds from the blanket to the playground to the pool and back again. I captured Kelsey as she came down the slide. Look closely, you can see her! We ended up leaving a little past 10pm and she fell asleep in record time! Today, I'm excited to say, we have our guest blogger, Kaye Perron, back with us for Game Capture Adventure in the Bush Part 2. What a trip of a lifetime she had this past winter, traveling all through Africa - alone, most of the time, taking each day as it unfolded and meeting new people all along the way. She really experienced this vast continent as a local. We are hoping to have Kaye share some of her other travel adventures from other parts of the world in future guest blogs. Ever since I read up on the Quebec City Winter Carnival last summer, I decided I had to attend! It is the largest winter carnival in the world and takes place the end of January through the beginning of February. Attending didn't work out for me this past winter because of other commitments. However, Tanya has decided to attend in 2015 and I'm feeling extremely antsy that I MUST make it a definite on my calendar as well. The 2015 Winter Carnival is from January 30 - February 13. I took a leap of faith and added it to our Upcoming Trips Page hoping I can swing it for a 4-5 day excursion with the girls in spite of school, so we can all meet up with Tanya and the kids. Will keep you posted!! Have a Happy Hump day and I'll see ya back here tomorrow for Throwback Thursday!! -E | A pinch of this and a dash of that..It's another Wednesday! Do you know what that means? It's when we feature our guest blogger! Today you will find part 2 of Game Capture Adventure in the Bush! Lots of running around for me today. Several stores to go to in order to find all of the ingredients on my long list that are needed to complete out Independence Day menu. With all of the running around, sadly I'll be gone most of the day and not able to do much travel research. Luckily the weather out here in SoCal hasn't been all that hot (yet). Definitely warm, but still tolerable. I hope I have't just jinxed that! And as Elisa has mentioned, I finally added the Quebec Winter Carnival to my calendar for February 2015! I've been wanting to go to this winter wonderland for years and years! So needless to say that I am very excited about it!!! Actually to give you some insight about me and winter traveling. I'm a avid skier and I try not to plan any trips in the winter that aren't ski trips. With that being said, sometimes there is a place that I'd love to go to, but the only time to go is in the winter - which are usually EPIC trips. I do make an exceptions to that.. Such as Patagonia! I had been planning on going to do the circle trek in Torres Del Paine for years. Well 2015 is not going to best year for me to go and check it out. So goes it and I'll have to find another year to go.. So many places to go!!! And I want to just do it all! I'm happily infected! Until tomorrow, -T |
