Plans trips and tackles the annual tradition of postcard takedown
Greetings my peeps!
I'm having a mellow weekend over here on the west coast. Being that we've just returned from a trip to Europe and Africa it's kind of nice to not have a jam packed schedule this weekend...that can all resume next weekend! LOL Although I rarely get effected by any jet lag and I just immediately adjust to whatever time zone that I happen to be in it's nice to get right back onto the swing of things without the extreme exhaustion that I see other people experiencing. The only thing that is getting me is hunger-lag. My stomach has no clue what time it is and I end up starving at random hours of the day! Cosette and Dominic were busy helping Liz and Mike out yesterday with their move. So it was just me and Dave heading out to grab so lunch - which timing wise was more like a late breakfast - which to my stomach was more like long past due dinner. We went to Loving Hut, had the "drumsticks", spring rolls and Jackfruit salad. I ate every last crumb and the meal hit the spot. Sorry I only took a pic of the "drumsticks".
We did some hanging out, some trip planning...it doesn't matter how long (or short) I've been home for me to plan for trips. Heck, I work on trip planning while I'm on trips!
Yesterday I happened to be working on the summer trip:
I was also working one of our trips for 2020 - While Dave is off cycling the Atlas Mountains in Morocco, I plan to hang out in Europe and most likely Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast (which is a fave for me). When he is all finished with his ride we plan to meet up in Europe and all take a Mediterranean Cruise together. I've been shopping these out for a while, but think I have finally decided on one. Now...the only thing that just hit me is that we plan to go to the 2021 FIS Competition in Cortina d'Ampezzo and if we go to Europe for this trip in September/October of 2020 we will only be home for a couple of months before heading back to Europe in January/February of 2021. Since these are both fairly big trips I think I would like a little bit more time at home between the 2...especially if the time home between the trips is around the holidays - which is my absolute craziest time of the year!!! I'm thinking I need to discuss with Dave the idea of switching his ride to Spring of 2020 instead of Fall. I think he'll be fine with this plan, but I'll keep you posted. Another thing that I finally got around to yesterday (about a month late) was our Annual event of cleaning off all of the postcards from Birdwald's fridge. For those of you unaware, Dave has a tradition of sending us postcards from each and every trip, as a memoir of our travels. I always loved idea!!! This is his thing and the thing that he looks most forward to on each and every trip. He carefully purchases most all of the stamps ahead of time (in theme to what is on our agenda) from each and every country that we have plans of going to and then carefully chooses and purchases each postcard to "fit" the trip. And since we are already home from our first trip of 2019 it was sure as heck about time to pack away the 2018 cards and make room for the new 2019 cards!
This year there were 67 cards!
Then we have the cards that I send to Dave from the travels that I do without my main squeeze...
Yeah folks it's obvious we do travel a whole lot!
And the first postcard of the 2019 season arrived before we did. It is from Barcelona, Spain. That's all for today. Have a good one! -Travelin' Tanya |
