A Day to Remember our WordsWell, hey there and hello!! Have you been keeping up with Tanya's Trip?? Boy is she having a blast!! It's been 13 days already since she left on this amazing Ski trip!! Today she is in Cedar City, Utah - woo hoo Tanya - have fun!! She is certainly putting me to shame with all the personal pictures she is posting. Life on the Elisa front has been pretty status quo. With over 10 days being stuck in the house with a sick daughter, I was at least able to catch up on lots of writing. I've also managed to do tons of research, as I've been blogging about, for trips already on the calendar and those I'm eager to set down dates for in the future. That's always the silver lining of staying home! However, on the negative side, I haven't been out and about much to take fun pictures :-( Yes, compared to my jet-setting cousin Tanya, I've lacked excitement lately. Well, tonight I do have a fun Girls' Night planned. I'll be having dinner with my sis, Danielle and one of her girlfriends. I know we're in for some good laughs and silly conversation. Lord knows, I can use that. And in light of the horrible, rainy, gray weather outside, it will feel good to enjoy some levity this evening! I'll give you the 411 tomorrow! Now, just a little silly trivia - today, January 18th is Thesaurus Day. Have I ever mentioned to you how I don't think I could survive without a thesaurus!! Yes, and thank God, with Thesaurus.com, it's right at my fingertips at all time. So, what's the history to this amazing tool and why do we celebrate it today? Well, on this day in 1779, Peter Mark Roget, the British lexicographer was born. His claim to fame was publishing The Thesaurus of English Words and Phrases (aka "Roget's Thesaurus") in the year 1852. January 18th is the day we honor and celebrate his contributions. Well, folks on that note, I'll be signing off. Enjoy your day and remember, words are one of the greatest tools we have!! -E | A New Ski Resort!Greetings Everyone! I'm writing to you from Cedar City, Utah. We made the 3+ hour drive here last night, after a very fun and lively dinner with friends in Salt Lake City. There was plenty of laughs and amongst the group of "interesting" company, let's just say that not everyone was a happy camper! But I certainly was! I just keep on smiling!!! There were definitely some very entertaining moments to say the least! (We never did get a picture of the entire table of characters...oh well) It was our farewell get together, until the next Utah Ski Trip is planned! In the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger "I WILL BE BACK!" Now it's time to test out the slopes here at the Brian Head Ski Resort. I've heard good things about it, and now it's time to see what I think! They happen to be celebrating 50 years of fun, and I'm sure glad that we can join them for the celebration! Aside from swooshing down the mountain today, I think the rest of the day will be a pretty mellow - since it's a rather sleepy town...at least from what I've seen so far. I could be wrong and hope that I am (which does tend to happen from time to time. LOL) And today is our last day of skiing for this trip. It has been a blast! But before ya know it we'll be back on the slopes again! We only have slightly more than a week off and then you'll find us on the slopes of Mont Treblant in Quebec, Canada!!! Woo to the Hoo! The joys of loving your life and living it well! Warm Wishes for a Magical Sunday! Catch ya back here on Monday! -T |
