Elisa's Daily Scoop Covering Long Island & NYC Boroughs CURRENTLY ON LONG ISLAND
February Features & Spuntino Wine Bar Event
Wouldn't you know it - the temps have dropped again - just when I was getting used to 50-something degree weather again lol! Well, it is winter, so what can I expect.
Small rant - it amazes me how much money it costs to do these school projects. Kelsey and I headed out to A.C. Moore yesterday afternoon to purchase supplies for her model of Warwick Castle, per her assignment to build a medieval structure.
Essentially, what was required was numerous shapes of styrofoam, some green moss (to simulate grass), Stone-finish spray paint, foam board and some pebbles. $113!!
What if you don't have the money to blow on project supplies? And you know that these things end up in the garbage after the assignment is graded and given back. Geesh!
The good news is, I believe she is going to do great! She figured out all the component pieces she needed by herself, and will construct the whole thing herself. I will, admittedly, assist with the spray painting, to avoid a mess.
Looking ahead to February, I'm currently working on the upcoming features, which include a special focus on Valentine's Day, Black History Month and Long Island Winter Fun!
Sneak peak at the articles in the works for Elisa's Long Island and Travelin' 25 include: February 5: 25 of the Best Valentine’s Gifts for the Vegan on Long Island

Guests are invited to take a journey through the Piedmont region of Italy, known for rich, savory food like truffles and slow-braised beef, which pair well with the powerful and tannin-heavy wines produced in the region.
The full three-course Taste of Piedmont menu includes:

Tagliatelle Tartufo – Truffle pesto, pine nuts, shaved black truffles. Paired with Falesco ‘Ferentano’ Roscetto
