Sunday Fun DayHey there!! How has your weekend been? Mine has been great! Hope you have fun plans for today! Had a WONDERFUL day yesterday out East in Remsenburg. First of all, it was a GORGEOUS day. Albeit , it was 17 degrees, but without heavy winds, the sunshine brightly shining and the quiet solitude of the area in the off-season, it was spectacular! I brought my camera with me yesterday in hopes of grabbing a few photos of the deer and other wildlife, but unfortunately, I didn't spot any. :-( I have a great many summer photos and I wanted to capture the wildlife with the wintery, snowy backdrop. Maybe next time. My plan today is to head over to the mall - not usually one of my favorite things to do, but it's a necessary evil today as I have to pick up a few birthday gifts. Of course, since I'll be in the mall, I'm sure the wind will blow me over in the direction of Nordstrom's - thought I would check out the cruise wear for my upcoming February Florida trip. Maybe a new bathing suit, or a cute outfit. We'll see. Of course, the shoe department is like a magnet for me, as anyone that knows me can attest!! What is it about designer shoes and women?? This woman in particular! This coming week, I'm hoping to make it to the Tenement Museum on the lower East Side of Manhattan, as I've mentioned in my previous posts this week. Call me crazy, but I'm thinking with the cold weather, I can get an even better feel for what life must have been like for thousands of NY immigrants living through the harsh NY winters back in the late 19th Century, as I tour through the area. These are the moments I long for my traveling' cuz, Tanya, to live here in New York, so we can be partners in crime for touristy days like these! Have you been following Tanya's Daily blogs during the last week on her first trip of 2015? ----------->----------->----------->----------> Did I mentioned how jealous I am and wish I was with my dear cousin this week? I know, I know; I don't ski - but I do like shopping, hot chocolates, non-skiing activities and snow, so I'm very confident that I'd fare quite well in Park City! Next year cuz!!!! Count me in!!! And just to torture myself - I thought I'd share Consumer Traveler's Top 10 Winter Activities Without Skies or Snowboards: * How about zip lining over the canyon between Lookout Peak and Red Pine Lodge, a span of more than 2,100 feet, suspended high above! or what about * The High West Distillery and Saloon, Utah’s first legal distillery since 1870 and the world’s only gastro-distillery! or how about * A ride on the Alpine Coaster at Park City Mountain Resort! Enjoy the rest of your weekend and here's wishing you a blessed Sunday!! -E PS: Don't forget to catch my blog this Travelin' Tuesday when I'm going to talk about my newest travel obsession -- Cambodia and Vietnam!! | Sundays are for SkiingGood Day Everyone! I'm writing to you from the lovely town of Park City, Utah! Just a quickie to update ya on the scoop and to say "Hi", then back off to the slopes I go! When there is snow on the mountain it calls to me & I must go! I got back on my skis yesterday, sprain or no sprain - if I can walk than I'm gonna ski! Everything went very well and I only expect that today will be even better! After a wonderful day on the slopes, we strolled along the Historic Main Street before finding our way to our resort and new home for the week. On our way to Park City Resort right now to do some more of what I love - SKIING - and then back to Salt Lake City later tonight to drive Dave back to the airport. Boo! He's gotta go back to work tomorrow, although I'm sure that he wishes he were staying here on vacation with us. I hope that you are managing to have a wonderful weekend and I hope that you are still voting for us...EVERY VOTE COUNTS! ------>>--------->>> It's too bad that Elisa and most of my family don't ski - it's an amazing time out there when you are coming down a mountain together as a family; there's just something so special about it! But I am glad to hear/read that Elisa wants to join in on a snow trip next year! Yippie!! Ok, I really must go...I'm starting to stress out that I'm not already skiing! Ciao 4 now, -T |
