The Year in Travel ReviewHappy New Year!!! Can you believe it!! It felt so strange writing 2015! But like it or not, the new year starts today! It's a time of hope and excitement and my wish for you is that all your dreams come true in the coming year! Summary of 2014 Travel It's time to talk Travel! 2014 brought me so many memories, new experiences near home and around the globe. Each year, when I look back, I say "wow, I wish I could have experienced more," but life with children and a family does have its limitation. So, under the circumstances, this is where 2014 has taken me: Prague, Czech Republic Vienna, Austria Rome, Italy Pisa, Italy San Gimignano, Italy Tuscan Countryside, Italy Venice, Italy Florence, Italy Albuquerque, New Mexico Taos, New Mexico Santa Fe, New Mexico Boca Raton, Florida New York City I was away 44 days and traveled over 24,500 miles in 2014. My goal is to beat this in 2015!!! Summary of 2014 Entertainment Fun I had a blast in 2014 on the entertainment front. It was a wonderful year for Broadway and I had an opportunity to see most of the 2014 Tony Award winning productions. Other live shows, near and abroad comprised my year! Cinderella (with Fran Drescher) The Realistic Jones' (with Toni Colette) All the Way (with Brian Cranston) Motown Symphony in Vienna Spanish Riding School (Vienna) Morning Exercises Beautiful: The Carole King Musical The Big Apple Circus Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill (with Audra McDonald) The Great Cupcake Tour Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder Aladdin Cooking Class in Tuscany NYC Food & Wine Festival (with Trisha Yearwood) NYC Downtown Tour Honeymoon in Vegas (with Tony Danza) Love Letters (with Alan Alda & Candice Bergen) NY Botanical Garden’s Holiday Train Show 2014 in Travel Pictures Pictures are worth a thousand words!! And in honor of it also being Throwback Thursday, here's a little something from New Year's Eve 1985! 30 short years ago! My best wishes for an awesome year ahead!! -E xoxo | Happy New Year!!!Welcome to 2015! I for one know that as usual it'll take me a while of writing 2014 before writing 2015 sinks in! Are you one of those too?? LOL Well, as of early last night... I was soooo ready to call it a night, throw in the towel and just wake up to 2015 - skipping all of the festivities (which I would never really do)! It was my mom's birthday, and the day just had not gone according to plan. And there was no plan B, so there were plenty of last minute decisions...and those kinda stress me out - especially when they have to do with FOOD! What makes it even worse... Is that if I'm hungry and these decisions have to be made - because once I'm hungry nothing sounds good to me, and I refuse many (if not all) ideas - so we can probably all agree that this is a BAD COMBO! Anyhow, I fought through it and we all had a nice night. Friends came over in hoards and we all celebrated both my mom's birthday and rang in the New Year! Everyone had a super fun night and I finally agreed on dinner! As for today, we will celebrate New Year's Day with a feast (as usual) and all just taking the day to relax (I started this off by getting some extra sleep this morning), we'll watch the televised 126th Annual Rose Parade, play games, take our New Year Holiday Picture and enjoy one other's company! Btw, we are heading up to Pasadena tomorrow to go and view the amazing floats! I'll take lots of colorful up close pictures, which I'll be posting here on Jan 2nd! Be sure to come back and take a peek! So here we are with a new book of 365 blank pages to write! Let's make it a great story for 2015! Another great idea for 2015 is for you to subscribe to Travelin' Cousins and receive the Daily Scoop directly to your email inbox! How cool is that?! And to kick off the New Year... Since we are always using quotes here on Travelin' Cousins, I've decided to add a Fun Quotes Page, using quotes that we've used throughout 2014! Let us know what ya think? And lastly, but certainly not least...Please remember to vote for us everyday! --------->>>------>>> Your vote does make a difference and we would love to have even better ratings for 2015 than we did in 2014! Now go and enjoy your Holiday! Much love, -T |
