Going to California Adventure Tanya's Daily Scoop CURRENTLY IN: ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Hi faithful readers, You'll never believe where I am?! Disney's California Adventure! But alas, since we left so early this morning and always do FULL to the brim days, I would have no time at all to write my scoop today - so I am actually writing this out as of last night (and I am sooooo super tired). All the photos are from the last time we went to DCA (Disney's California Adventure) which was back in March (days after my birthday) and was during the California Adventure Food and Wine Festival. And at the Disney Parks these days there is no shortage of vegan food... Which is always so exciting! Especially being that since we have been vegans for so very many years and we have gone to so many places and have been so very disappointed by the lack of the vegan food offerings for years upon years - that now we are just thrilled to bits to be able to find so many vegan options to choose from!! LET'S EAT!!! This time around there is a new festival in town, we will be enjoying the Pixar Festival and look forward to finding all new vegan dishes to try - pictures from this event to be posted on the blog this coming Saturday. I'll also fill the the blanks about all these recent Disney World and Disneyland Trips! But for now and before I fall asleep, I will share with you that DY and I went on Monday night to celebrate Skip's birthday at a Vietnamese Restaurant in Long Beach. Then on Tuesday I joined some of the Fam Bam at the nearby Irvine Park Farmer's Market. Peaches are in season and they are juicy and DELISH! And I saved the best and most exciting for last... I BOOKED a trip (insert Happy Dance here) to Greenland!!! I've actually been wanting to go ever since we toured Iceland back in 2014. So you know I'm pretty stoked! Stay tuned for more of this and everything else in the next episode of your Daily Scoop with the Travelin Cousins. Ciao 4 Now, -Travelin Tanya | Jeremy Strong on Broadway! Elisa's Daily Scoop CURRENTLY IN: LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK Hey there!! Thursday already!! The weeks just seem to fly by! This past week has been filled with lots of great theatre - and with my favorite theatre-going buddy, Kelsey! Last Saturday we enjoyed a lovely day at the John Engeman Theatre in Northport, Long Island with a vibrant, musical performance of Jersey Boys. Fast forward three days later to Tuesday, and Kelsey and I headed into Manhattan for an evening performance of An Enemy of The People at Circle in The Square theatre. Going back four years, Kelsey and I (and even Gianna) would hoof it into the city at least once a month or so for a day of eating, sightseeing and Broadway show. But as the world went through some major changes in 2020 and 2021, our routine got interrupted (as did Broadway, which shut down for a very long time), and we have been trying to get back into the mode, slowly but surely. During the past year, we did manage to get ourselves to Broadway to see Merrily We Roll Along with Jonathan Groff and Daniel Radcliffe. We really enjoyed it and it made us realize how much we miss the theatre!! Kelsey has become the one out of the two of us who keeps her finger on the pulse of what's happening in the theatre world. When she told me that Jeremy Strong (who I have really liked since first seeing him in The Big Short and then was a big fan of his as Kendall on Succession) and Michael Imperioli (playing the iconic roll of Christopher Moltisanti on The Sopranos and then most recently on The White Lotus) WERE GOING TO BE ON BROADWAY TOGETHER - I said - let's get tickets immediately! Honestly, I didn't even ask what the show was lol - but, as it turns out, the show was An Enemy of The People, which I didn't know much about and had never seen. If you have more literary knowledge than me, you will know that this is a Henrik Ibsen play. He is only one of the founders of modernism in theatre, and often referred to as "the father of realism" and the most influential playwright of the 19th century, (shame o me!) We lucked out with a gorgeous Spring day for our excursion into The Big Apple via the Long Island Rail Road. You may remember that in my "previous life", I lived a block from the railroad station which was more than convenient for jaunts into the city. Since we moved, it's not as convenient. Nonetheless, we nabbed a spot near the train station, hopped on for an evening of fun! There is never a time when Kelsey and I do anything that eating is not involved! So, first stop was a pre-theatre meal at one of our favorite NYC Italian restaurants, Azalea!! We hadn't been there in years!! So, we decided to make up for lost time and ate our faces off!! Funny enough, I never realized that Azalea is literally next door to the Circle in the Square Theatre!! The food, as usual was absolutely DEE- LISH!! In Tanya's words, "the camera always eats first!" - so here is a look of the tasty delicacies we enjoyed prior to settling in to the 2-hour performance! The show was wonderful - the performances were spectacular and the seats were incredible. Here's the rest of our evening in photos!
