Happy Year of the Pig
Happy Wednesday!!
Yesterday, was in fact, a bit nutty and in all the rushing around, Tanya and I forgot to wish everyone a Happy Lunar New Year - Year of the Pig. Tanya has featured quite a bit of information about this special Chinese zodiac, so be sure to check out her Scoop today! As for me, I've been a busy little beaver trying to get some bookings completed. As you may or may not know, I've got several upcoming trips, with a number of outstanding "to do's" still left to check off my list. Let's take a look: February 2019: Walt Disney World, Orlando, FL Kelsey's 13th Birthday Celebration
We depart in less than two weeks - 10 days to be exact - for the most magical place on earth!
As of today, we are booked on the Magical Express and checked into our hotel. Still left on my list:
June/July 2019 : Sicily, Italy Cousins Taste of Sicily Trip
I'm laughing to myself because we still have lots to do for this trip and not much time!! Here's our outstanding list of to do's:
We were supposed to chat last night. My bad, I had to cancel. So, now we are scheduled to lock down the Sicily plans so we can at least get our itinerary and dates straight in order to start booking accommodations and flights. These are the most important things. Then we can get our day tours (if we decided to do any) in order. We decided that Tanya would be in charge of rental cars since she has more experience than me with booking European car rentals and knows how to get the best prices. October 2019: Las Vegas, Nevada Cosette's 18th Birthday Celebration
I know this is a bit away, but guess what i did today?!?
I booked my flights for me and the girls for this trip!!! Yup. It's done! By now, you guys know what a Las Vegas aficionado Tanya is and therefore, I am basically leaving the entire planning of this trip (which will be a 4 day weekend for my gang) to my cousin. We will book hotel and dinner reservations based on where Tanya tells us to lol! Other Trips for 2020 Of course, I'm looking ahead to 2020 and trying to sort out where we'll be going. I believe that Christmas 2019 will be spent at home. We've traveled over the past few Christmases, but I'm very hopeful that we will be settling into our new home (which we still do not have lol) by this Christmas. Additionally, I was told that we really cannot go away during February 2020 Winter break next year because it is during this week that Gianna's school play does intense rehearsals. Unfortunately, though she was selected to be in this year's drama production, she had to withdraw because we already had plans to go to Disney World for February break and she just would have missed too many rehearsals. So, if she wants to be in the drama production next year as a sophomore, we will have to be home-based. As a result, here is what I'm thinking for 2020:
I'll keep you posted as we make our plans!! Well, that's a wrap for me today guys! Have a wonderful day! |
A Year of Fortune and Luck!
Greetings!
I CANNOT believe that we forgot to wish you a Happy Lunar New Year yesterday.
2019 is the year of Earth Pig starting from Feb.5, 2019 (Chinese Lunar Near Year) and lasting to Jan. 24, 2020
Well just because we forgot to say so here on the blog, doesn't mean that we didn't do our best to celebrate. And what I mean by that is cooking and eating in style of the asian culture! Let me repeat myself...
So being that I didn't have the entire day to spend in the kitchen here is what our Lunar New Year menu was:
Scallion Pancakes
Sesame Garlic Stir Fry with Snow Peas Smoked Tofu Dumplings with Sweet Chili Dipping Sauce & Flash Fried Salt and Pepper Tofu
In travel news,
-I'm sooo excited that Elisa has booked her flights for our October SUPER FUN VEGAS COUSINS BIRTHDAY WEEKEND! -I managed to book the accommodations for our Annual Moab Mountain Biking Trip in April. Much more on both Elisa and my "to do" list. Hopefully I'll get some more done today! So it's the year of the PIG. What does that mean? Here's what I found in the UK site the Daily Mail: Kay Tom, a Leicester-based master in feng shui and horoscopes at The Energy Specialist, reveals exactly what the next 12 months holds in store for each of the 12 signs of the zodiac. What will the Year of the Pig bring YOU? Chinese zodiac expert reveals what your sign can expect.
In short it means a year of fortune and luck!
Unlike Western astrology, each sign of the Chinese zodiac 'rules' over an entire year, bringing with it particular energy to everything that occurs over the next 12 months. According to chinese astrology, 2019 is a great year to make money and a good year to invest! BBC news shares: In China that means millions of people have travelled to their hometowns, in the largest annual human migration.
What sign of the Chinese zodiac are you?
