Hello!! Happy Monday!

We survived the first day back to school from Winter break vacation.  Boy, is it ever windy out today - thought we were going to blow away this morning during the AM drop-off!

Well, today, I have some extra exciting news to tell you!

Travelin' Elisa - ME!! - has been asked to do an in-store travel event at Vera Bradley in the Roosevelt Field Mall!  

I cannot tell you how excited I am! 

In fact, not only will I be there to give some great travel advice and offer a few suggested travel itineraries for a variety of trips - I will also be presenting some of the newest and best Vera Bradley products from their new resort collection that pair perfectly with these Travelin' Cousins' trips!!

Tanya in Lake Tahoe - Day 4
​Skiing at Sierra at Tahoe

Hi there! I'm coming at you from a rather windy day up here in Lake Tahoe.

I was up uber early this morning to drive Dave B. to the airport as he headed back home to SoCal. He ran into a few adventures of his own along the way - but that is all for tomorrow's Daily Scoop.

For today we shall instead talk about yesterday (as is the theme with the Daily Scoop).

Yesterday was all about getting on the slopes and it was our decision  to try out Sierra at Tahoe. Off we went. The roads were clear, yet it was like driving between walls of snow.

After 20 miles we had arrived and now it was time for business. The business of gearing up (which can be a pain in the rear), hopping aboard a shuttle and getting to the lifts.

Whew! Once we were on the snow, we popped on our skis and were on our way!

Then, we were off!

​I can't even explain to you just how great it was to feel the snow and hear the snow beneath my skis.

After a few hours of cloudy gray day skiing we opted to have lunch at the lodge.

We took a short break. Ate and warmed up. Then out we went to hit the slopes once again and the skies were a beautiful blue.

And then go figure that it wasn't until after lunch that I found my favorite trails...

Each time that I stopped to take a picture meant taking off my mittens and liners, having my fingers freeze for a bit, snapping a few shots and then covering back up.

Lift after lift and run after run. We had a nice day out there at Sierra at Tahoe and after taking the last lift up at 3:59pm we came back down to the base and it was time for Dave to get a pin, patch and postcard for skiing at a new resort.

Well they had a pin and patch, but no postcard.

The day was fun and t was time to head on back to town. The kids zonked out almost immediately.

Once back, Dave and I ran out to the nearby shopping center to search out the perfect postcard and to find me a new pair of glove liners.

After that we called it a day and went back to our room to play a board game and have dinner.

This afternoon was suppose to be a sledding day but...come back tomorrow to find out why we aren't going sledding.
