Tanya's Daily Scoop CURRENTLY TRAVELING IN: LAKE TAHOE
Heavenly views and more
What a Heavenly day we had swooshing down the mountain slopes yesterday! The conditions were pretty great, and the weather was not even COLD...
As expected Cosette had a few "tips" for her dad, which started as early as the first run. (Cracks me up!) She's such a little critic!!
She even managed a mouthful to me at lunch time as to how I shouldn't have toasted the fresh French bread (okaaaay then) - needless to say that her attitude didn't get her very far (she went on what I like to call PLENTY-O-RESTRICTION) nor did it last very long...thank heavens otherwise she might've be "restricted" until she turns 25! LOL
It was yet another beautiful day overlooking the sapphire-blue waters of Lake Tahoe.
Located on the border of both California and Nevada, Heavenly ski resort is noted to be one of the most unique snowsports destinations on the planet! It's no surprise that we've made this one of our annual winter getaways for the past 15 years, and I can attest that the view never gets old!
On a side note: I love to see when companies are doing there part: It's always wonderful to see companies and individuals working towards being eco friendly or "GREEN". Heavenly which is owned by Vail Resorts is no different, their biggest lodge is the huge 15,000 square foot Tamarack Lodge was built with the environment in mind and happens to be LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified, and it will also serve as a guide for future Vail Resorts development. KUDOS to companies that CARE!
It was a lovely day on the mountain and I was totally stoked that the slopes weren't at all busy - which is why I love skiing midweek!
We rode up and then skied down non-stop...until lunch that is, and then after lunch and getting back on the slopes, it was only after a few runs that Dave was looking kinda beat, and he mentioned that he was feeling the burn. His legs were shot and he was ready to call it a day.
I then found out that Cosette's legs were pretty burnt out as well. I guess you could say that we got a great workout - no lines, and runs galore, but don't ya wanna ski till the end?!
After another couple of runs Dave was done, and the kids were willing to do one last run with their sweetie pie mum (me). But as we were on the lift, Cosette was confirming with me that this was in fact going to be THE LAST RUN...I explained that it was - but that we were going to the very top vs mid mountain - and at that moment neither kid was too happy with that info.
There I thought that Dominic was still going strong, and I find out that he too had only one more run in him for the day.
Well I guess I can't complain, since it was almost closing time, and the most we could've squeezed in would've been 1 additional run anyhow!
Oh well, I'm sure there will come a day that they will have more energy than I do...right?!?
Overall, the day was just great and the night was cozy and relaxing.
We are about to head out and hit the slopes again, so I'll catch ya back here tomorrow!
Hope you have an awesome day, -T
Elisa's Daily Scoop NEXT TRIP DEPARTS IN: 23 DAYS
New York City Throwback
Hello! Well, I have to get rid of this cold!! The damp, rainy weather hasn't helped.
I am pretty sure, that one more day of rest (today) and I should be back to my old self!
The kiddies will not be happy if I am not well by Saturday for them to get back to the barn. I already put them on notice that if I am not 100%, we are staying home so Momma can rest.
I got on the schtick yesterday after writing my W2GW edition "Flowers, Food & Film"and penciled in a few events on my March Calendar.
You know by now, how much Tanya and I LOVE flowers. So, I'll be hitting both the Orchid Show at the Botanical Gardens in the Bronx as well as Macy's Flower Show in Manhattan. However, the Macy's show will be first weekend in April, as it begins while I'm away in Florida.
Have I mentioned to you how much I'm loving this local travel???!!!! It is close, inexpensive and does not require long-term planning.
Additionally, I'll be hitting The Museum of the Moving Image for the Queens Film Festival before heading down to the Sunshine State for Easter break.
Before I go any further, please indulge me for a minute...to go off on a rant.
I just hate arrogant people who think they have arrived. I especially hate people who lie about their "success" to impress people. I had an encounter with someone yesterday (indirectly) who didn't know me, but through a mutual friend acted like I was less than him because my LinkedIn Resume showed I was "not actually employed" for a number of years.
What the person did not know, is that my involvement and connections to people in the same industry as this particular person are life-long and because he was judgmental, he may have just lost many opportunities going forward because of the influence I have. Oh well, too bad. Oh, how I hate arrogance!! Back to travel... Thursday already and time for a few throwbacks. Thought it would be fun to do some "then" and "now" pictures my hometown, New York City!
I'm gonna throw it WAAAAY back for you folks!! Such fun!!

I just love looking at old historic pictures! The above ones are really charming.
Yesterday was a total success at the Girl Scout Meeting!! Kelsey's troop earned their Flower Badge as they learned how to make floral arrangements.
Look at how cute this is!! I love what she Kelsey created!!
Kelsey's Floral Arrangement, to earn her FLOWER Merit Badge - all wrapped up!
She named her Floral shop: "Big Head Official"
This little arrangement brightened up my kitchen!! What perfect colors for February!
Okay, so are you getting a load of Tanya and her gang skiing it up in Lake Tahoe?? Looks like tons of fun!! <<<<----<<<<----<<<<----<<<<---<<<<
