BRAND BALLOT'S TOP 100 MOM BLOGS FOR 2018!!
Recap of Epcot and preview of Hollywood StudiosHello - I'm finally getting a moment to catch up on these blogs here from Disney World. Me and my gals are boppin' all around - a different theme park each day. Today was Epcot day and we started off bright and early with a yummy breakfast at the Garden Grill. This place is excellent for vegans!!! And of course it's spectacular for non-vegans as well. It also happens to be one of the character dining restaurants. In addition to our "skillet" breakfast of scrambled eggs, Rice and bean loaf and potato barrels, we enjoyed fresh fruit and some lovely encounters with Chip, Dale, Pluto and Mickey. After breakfast, we headed outside to make our way to the international pavilions - specifically to Norway - to ride Frozen Ever After, which was totally adorable! Did I mention that our trip coincided with the Epcot Festival of the Arts? I'm pretty sure I did yesterday. Well regardless,s there is a great deal of artwork and music to be enjoyed throughout the park. With the day still young, we headed out of the pavilions after our ride so we could make our fast pass time at Soarin' which is one of our favorites. Kelsey had a visit to Club Cool on our itinerary, where she was intent on trying the many international sodas! Once again, we walked back to the pavilions and I snapped pictures along the way. We started in Canada, taking in the "Oh Canada" film, narrated by Martin Short - what beautiful film footage of this north American country! We stopped at the Kidcot area in Canada, where we relaxed and the kids colored. We had planned to visit more Kidcot stations in the other countries, but never did. Next stop - walking through the UK, France, Morocco, we stopped in Japan to do some shopping. and where Kelsey left with some candy. We strolled through The American Adventure, and made our way to Italy, where we had a lunch reservation at Via Napoli. I will say, there really weren't to many vegan options AND, not much for dairy free. Kelsey was in her glory with yet another Margherita pizza and I had a delicious salad with romaine lettuce, arugula, poached pears, radishes and pecorino. It was very light and yet filling. Me and the girls got into a very deep conversation about the history of our family's Italian heritage and who the immigrants were and their individual stories. So, after finishing our meal, we walked around "Italy" and found a comfy bench by the "Rialto Bridge"and chatted for about an hour or so, just chillin'. We noticed that there was also a Disney Broadway review show in the evening, so we did a bit more shopping, ducking in and out of the various pavilions, snapping away and making a few purchases, before sitting down to an hour of wonderful singing of top songs from the many Disney Broadway Shows. The show featured the talents of Ashley Brown (the first-ever Mary Poppins on Broadway - who we saw perform when Gianna was 3 (her first Broadway show!) ) and Josh Strictland (who played Tarzan on Broadway. They were amazing!! There was a full moon last night and I just had to capture the night sky! As we were leaving the park, we did manage to catch a final ride on Spaceship Earth!!! Great way to end the evening!! Well, today, we are headed to Hollywood Studios. I sent a few photos to Tanya to post today as a preview before I tell you all about our day in tomorrow's blog. Toodles, -Travelin' Elisa xoxo | WinterizingHi out there! Prepping for a week of snow play is kind of hectic (especially when it's your first snow trip of the season). There is all the food planning, the menus and all the shopping. Gathering of all the appropriate clothing! Since it's a road trip to the snow, it's important to be sure that the vehicle is winter ready! Here is an article by Bridgestone Tires on Tips for Winterizing Your Car Anyhow , with all of the prep and all of my usual running around. I almost feel as busy as I was the week before Christmas. UGH Be sure to check out all of the FUN pics from Elisa's trip to WDW! Wish I was there with them. Gotta run again, -Travelin' Tanya |
