Vacation Shopping Day & Romantic Destinations for Valentine's Day
Well, hello! A lovely Sunday here.
As you may recall, I was scheduled to join a group of bird watchers up at Wave Hill in the Bronx today. Well, I had to postpone my trip to March 10th (the next bird watching day), because my girls informed me that they desperately needed some last minute clothing for our vacay in six days. So, we are up bright and early and setting out for the mall to see what kind of deals we can get our hands on. I'm pretty sure that both girls have a good idea of exactly what they want, since they spent time internet browsing during the past few days. You know that our day will also include food at some point as well, but we don't have a definitely foodie destination in mind. I think we'll probably hit the food court, which has some good veggie and vegan offerings. So, I'll be hopping off here quickly. However, I did want to leave you with a fun article I came across in Trips to Discover, entitled: 19 of the World’s Most Romantic Destinations for a Valentine’s Vacation If you’re hoping to take romance a step further this Valentine’s Day, why not head off to one of the world’s most romantic destinations? From exotic, faraway places to spots that are closer to home, you’re sure to find something...read more You may find some great inspiration for a lovely trip for next Valentine's Day, giving you plenty of time to plan your travels! Last minute plans for a day trip to Mount Baldy
Sorry to bop on here late in the day.
And I won't be on here for long either... Ya see, my brother had plans of going up to the local mountains for a day to play in the snow. However since it looked like it was going to snow. I had opted that this would really not be a good day for this plan (especially since he doesn't have snow tires or chains). But off went my brother along with Violet and Mika sticking to the plan and off I went into the shower. By the time I had come out of the shower, I came to realize that my oh so very nervous and worried mother had called the fire department of where my brother was heading to ask about chain control. She found out there wasn't any and that they really weren't worried about the "storm" until tomorrow morning. With this news a bunch of us at home had decided to change whatever plans we might have had and to head up to the mountains in hopes of finding my brother, Violet and Mika. So that we could all play in the snow. Have you know that I am so not a last minute type of person. I need plans. I spend so much of my time planning. But I am also all about family and I so wanted to see my 2 nieces (Mika and Chaplin) play in the snow with Cosette and Dominic. So although it stressed me out terribly, I loaded up the car after gathering the proper snow and winter attire (including our chains just in case), and then we were off! The drive happens to be just under an hour to the destination which in terms of SoCal is a walk in the park. That was until we actually got on the road that leads up the mountain. Just as I guessed. It's the weekend and this was an idea that everyone had...and there we were in our little caravan now STUCK in traffic, slowly creeping up the mountain. Pictures and story to be continued tomorrow - Ciao, -Travelin' Tanya |
