Elisa's Daily ScoopThrowin It Back AgainHowdy and welcome back to Travelin' Cousins. Well, like any other Thursday, we're throwin' it back today! Today, I'm in the house with Part 12 of Elisa's Throwback China Trip Adventure, circa 1991. My hope is that you have been following this trip of mine since I began it back in August 2014. Every other week since August 14th, I've added a new segment from the Travel Journal I kept during my week long tour from Hong Kong to Shanghai to Beijing to Xi'an and back to Hong Kong. Today I will be sharing my experiences of my first full touring day in Xi'an - home of the famous Terra Cotta Soldiers of the First Emperor's Tomb. If you haven't been able to follow along every other week, perhaps you can CLICK HERE or on the image below for the full chronological listing of all articles in this series! Is anyone else in the New York-area sick of the snow yet?!! I have to say, I crack myself up because every year, I'm like a kid in a candy store with the sign of the season's first snow. I can't wait to go and play with the kids; I love feeling the cold snowflakes on my face; I'm excited to get all bundled up! But, just as quickly as my excitement starts, it fades just as quickly and after a month of the icy cold wet stuff, I'm ready to scream! That is where I'm at now. Tired of being stuck in the house; sick of slipping and sliding on the ice just to get into my car; and so over the heavy coats and boots!! And unfortunately, Monday, February 2nd, Ground Hog's Day 2015, our little rodent friend, Punxsutawney Phil DID see his shadow. So, unfortunately, we are in for another six weeks of winter folks! To add to the annoyance of the weather, I'm also stuck home, yet again with Kelsey who came home from school with a fever yesterday. My dear friends, this is round 3 of illness for this season. Last year, we got away scott free - not one cold for any of us! I guess this year is payback! That's all for today folks! Here's a little throwback winter fun from a few years back! Till tomorrow! -E PS: PLEASE VOTE TODAY BY CLICKING THE TOP MOMMY BLOG ICON! THANKS! ----->>>>>----->>>>>----->>>>> "No Winter Lasts Forever; No Spring Skips It's Turn." | Tanya's Daily ScoopNo Winter in SoCalWho's that girl?! Haha! Yup it's meeee and it's Throwback Thursday #TBT! This week it's Elisa's turn to continue the fun with PART 12 of her Throwback China Trip Adventure series with you! When I'm here in SoCal, I certainly don't get to experience much of a winter whatsoever. I personally think it rather sucks! We don't get to enjoy and experience all 4 of the seasons, so we have to hunt them down = more travel for us! And while it's not that I love being cold, but I do love how gorgeous it is! In addition to my love of skiing and several other winter activities. Not to mention that I really don't mind wearing all the layers, coats, hats and boots. I spend my winters traveling to frigid locations in search of Beautiful Winter Wonderlands! So when the little Punxsutawney Phil says that there will be another 6 weeks of winter - I am nothing but thrilled!!! And tomorrow will be yet the beginning of an extended winter weekend where I will be doing just that! I'll be heading to Vail, Colorado which also happens to be the very first place that I had ever skied in the rockies! Well from that very first time back in 1998, I was completely hooked and placed Vail Ski Resort on MY LIST of favorite ski resorts (where it has remained ever since)! After this trip to Colorado, we've only got 1 more ski trip planned. BOO ! Such a short season, and this year somehow seems even shorter than some others. Ski Trips for the current season (2014-15): Lake Tahoe & Utah Ski Road Trip Mont-Tremblant Vail, Colorado Lake Tahoe (pray for snow, because they haven't been getting much this season) And because of all of this, I've already planned to go a little CRAZY for next season! Check it out: Ski Plans for 2015-16 season - Lake Tahoe, CA (twice) Colorado (Vail & Breckenridge) Banff to Whistler Utah Ski-A-Thon Jackson Hole, WY Mammoth, CA (which is far from my favorite...so this will only for a wkd) Now this is a list that I can get excited about!! I've been really banging out my list of TO DOs and one of the things on todays list is Packing, and speaking of which... I've already started thinking about what I'll be packing for MY TRIP to the Azores! As much as I love skiing is as much as Cosette loves horses and horseback riding! So another that that I'll be doing today is taking Cosette to go see Dream. Cosette spent much time yesterday cleaning her grooming supplies and getting ready to head to the stables today... I think she might even a little extra excited because while we were in Quebec she was floored when we we're able to stop at her all time favorite tack store Greenhawk (that she's only visited online up until then) and she purchased a lovely new Halter and Lead Rope for Dream! That's about all folks! Hope you have a fantastic day and please remember to vote for us ------>>>>------>>>> -T |
