Elisa's Daily ScoopReflections of Super Bowl Sunday FunGood morning folks! Sorry for the hiatus yesterday - had some personal business to attend to - but I'm back today!!! Did you watch Super Bowl 49 last night? I know the tension was high in my house as we had opposing views on who the winner should be! I had a house-full last night to watch the game. Most were rootin' for The Patriots, but my bestie, Maria, couldn't find it in her heart to root for New England, considering her dislike for both Tom Brady and Coach Bill Belechick, so we had a committed Seahawks fan in the house as well! So, needless to say, it made for a very interesting evening. But, in the end New England took the victory 28-24! I had mixed feelings about the half-time show. While I totally love Katy Perry and thought the effects and staging was great, I found it overpowered the singing. Last year's half-time with Bruno Mars seemed more audible. I was also surprised at Missy Elliot's appearance - not very impressed with her performance. Lenny Kravitz was okay - didn't feel one way or the other about it. Well, here we are again with snow covering the ground here on Long Island. Clearly not as much as last week, and with the rain coming down, it's sure to dissipate quickly. Nonetheless, the kids' had a two hour delay and didn't have to be at school until 10AM this morning. It was definitely nice to have the extra two hours this morning! So, what are your plans for the week? My week is going to be filled with errands and organization. The girls took it upon themselves to pack for our Florida trip at the end of next week. They even packed their carry-ons! I have my carry-on ready and waiting so I can leave on a trip at any time. My suitcase is what I need to finalize. The weather in Orlando has been pretty chilly of late, so I'm hoping it warms up a bit by the time we get there. The 10-day forecast shows the temps in the high 60's - low 70's. This would actually work for me since I hate when it's terribly hot. The kids might be disappointed if they cannot go swimming. So, we'll see how that goes. Stay warm! Stay Safe! See you back here tomorrow!! -E | Tanya's Daily ScoopLots of Fun for February!!Happy Monday everyone! And welcome to the wonderful first week of February! After being delayed on the plane at the Montréal–Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport, switching planes and having arrived more than 3 hours late into LAX last night; We finally got home at close to 3am! Boy what a temperature difference! Yikes! We were only just carrying our coats through LAX and we were sweating! It was 56F at LAX, but coming from -2F in Montreal (not counting the wind), we had definitely adapted more to the cold. The kids were so funny that they were asking for the A/C in the truck to be set at Quebec temperatures! LOL We had all got a good laugh at how they absolutely froze in Quebec! Begging for the heat to be turned as high as possible and now wishing to be back in the cold!! Delayed flights really prove to show the true colors of certain passengers...and we definitely had a Negative Nelly sitting not too far from us! Geesh, all the complaining and pouting. Let's all just get to our destination safe and sound please! Now of course, I prefer if my flight is going to be delayed that it be on the way home vs on the outbound. But I've been in the situation on both sides of the coin and there really is no reason in get all up in arms over something that you have no control over. The rest of yesterday was again quite fun and it was difficult to say good bye to Quebec City (even knowing that we will be back next year). We went tubing, did a loop of Dog Sledding...where Cosette went flying off! And of course couldn't leave without one last Maple Taffy experience! GOD that stuff is SOOOOOOOOO GOOD! As for today, and being back home on the range, the kids have choir rehearsal, and I have a travel meeting for the upcoming IPC Retreat to Crestline (which takes place over Valentine's and Presidents Day Wkd). Plus the countdown continues for my Ski Trip to Vail and for the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships! We leave in just 4 days, in which I obviously need to unpack, get my skis waxed, repack, and take care of bunches and bunches of stuff! I had the kids take January off from some of their classes, as we were hardly around and now that it's February all kids classes will resume! And let's not forget that tomorrow is Travelin' Tuesday, so please be sure to meet me back here for all of the travel updates and discussion! Until then, -T |
