Festive Disney Gingerbread House Displays
Well hello there!!!
Is it just me or does anyone else totally love the cold weather? I was out with Punkin bright and early and because there was no wind, I didn't realize it was only 29 degrees! It felt so refreshing! After returning inside, I did a bit of straightening up and when I returned to my bedroom, I found two little visitors sleeping in my bed...
As I was going through my email this morning, I found such a great article in InsideTheMagic.net entitled:
Gingerbread Displays at Disney Parks: Where to spot the dazzling holiday houses
With everyone, everywhere getting into the Christmas spirit, Disney is no exception!!
According to the article, "Every holiday season, Disney chefs create dazzling holiday gingerbread displays for Disney Parks and Resorts and Disney Cruise Line."
What is so cool is that every part of each of these holiday displays is made of edible sweets!!! Some of these tasty treats include Gingerbread Shingles, Stollen Bread, Christmas Tree Brownie, S’mores Cookies, Chocolate Peppermint Bark, White Chocolate Disney Characters, Lollipops, Caramel Pecan Fudge, a variety of Cupcakes and so much more. And these chefs are in no way "foodists," for they also include yummy delights that are gluten free and vegan friendly! Disney properties showcasing these innovative gingerbread displays are Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, The American Adventure at Epcot, Disney Springs, Disney’s BoardWalk Resort in Walt Disney World and Haunted Mansion Holiday and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa at Disneyland Park. Even Disney Cruise Line and Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa in Hawaii have been adorned with clever gingerbread houses! read more. I do remember how lovely Disney's BoardWalk was adorned with enchanting gingerbread displays during our stay last Christmas! This year, we will be there during February, so we will miss the Christmas decor and festivities, but knowing Disney, they will have something else to visually delight guests!! I'll see you back tomorrow!! Enjoy your Sunday! -Travelin' Elisa xoxo |
Christmas Shopping successes, failures and vegan foods
Well folks, if you are one of our loyal followers (whom we so do love and appreciate) just to keep you posted - we did not go up to Agoura Hills after-all.
Instead Dave and I hit the shops and tried to make a dent in our super long Christmas lists. But first we needed some nourishment and headed for good ol' Loving Hut. And although I know and realize that their yummy Ice Coffee is not a part of nourishment that is exactly what I started with!
For the meal, we started with one of our favorite appetizers - Spring Rolls (which I'm pretty sure that I could eat every day!).
Then once the mains arrived - I totally flaked on taking anymore pictures and just dove right into our lunch!
The next stop was a favorite around the holidays or any special event for that measure. Deckers Fine Gifts & Collectibles in Tustin, CA. What an absolute lovely store they have and we always do so well and have much success shopping there. We were doing great and it felt wonderful - considering how far behind I fill (in comparison to years past). We were expecting that we'd have more luck at the next stop which was the original place that we felt we'd definitely walk away with our arms draped down carrying bags upon bags. However this was so not the case and I think we were actually astonished at the fact that we couldn't find anything that we assumed we would. P.S. Sorry for being so vague but the people on my Christmas list also read our blog and I don't want to ruin any surprises! That was a bummer, but we moved on and I found a couple of more items to cross off the scroll. Then after all of the busy work of shopping it was amazing that both Dave and I were quite hungry and ready to go home and have dinner with the fam bam. The only problem was that I really had no idea what dinner was going to be... I racked my brain at what I might be in the mood for and what would take me forever in the kitchen. Eventually I came up with Vegan Fish Tacos.
Everyone seemed quite happy with that decision and scarfed them right up.
It was then time to continue my shopping efforts online, however only made a slight dent. Oh well today is a new day and I'm ready to hit the stores once again!! We will have a mid-afternoon break to take Cosette to a holiday performance that she and her choir will be filling the stage and delighting the audience with joyous Christmas carols and Holiday dances. And as a special guest, we have invited our new friend Jasmine (who we met on tour in China) along to watch the performance and then do some Christmas shopping with us. All in all it should be a festive day that I must get to. And on that note I'll be signing off. See ya tomorrow. Hopefully, I'm ready for another super busy week! -Travelin' Tanya |
