Travel PlanningHey there! How is your weekend going? Things are going excellent on my end! I managed to get to bed at a very reasonable time last night -yay! However, I was wide awake at 5AM this morning. ugh! The good news is, I had some quiet time to catch up on some travel and entertainment research. I decided to check out the hotels in Bratislava, Slovakia. As of yesterday, Tanya and I are booked for two of the Eastern European cities we will be visiting later this year (June-July) on our "Milestone Birthday Trip". I was pretty sure that I had found the perfect boutique hotel, in the heart of the Old Town Square. But, I wanted to be sure of this before I booked. One of the issues with many of these hotels is that they only offer Kind size beds. I love my cousin Tanya and I know she loves me; but I'm confident that neither of us want to share a bed with each other! I found that if I upgraded the room, they had twin beds. So, looks like we only have 2 cities left to book now for this trip (Krakow and Vienna). (Happy Dance). Since my first visit to Prague last Spring, I completely fell in love with Eastern Europe. I can't really say why, it was just a visceral feeing that I knew I had to return. It was at that point, I texted Tanya during my trip that we had to plan to come back together. And here we are in the midst of finalizing travel arrangements for 5 different cities and countries in this picturesque part of the world. For your Sunday reading pleasure, check out this "Best of Europe" Best Hotels in Bratislava. Today, I have plans to meet up with Denise for an early afternoon coffee klatch at Starbucks. (Although as you may already know, I don't actually drink coffee). Haven't done that in quite some time with the hustle-bustle of December. Looking forward to a girls' afternoon of chatting and laughing! Much as I hate NOT to make sauce and macaroni on Sunday, I think everyone (including me) is on overload this week from all the pasta we've eaten. (Is that really possible for an Italian? hmmm) In any case, I'm going to most likely make chicken for everyone along with some kind of quinoa salad and side - probably roasted carrots. Dave B. and I are currently on our way up to Santa Monica to indulge in a lovely brunch before heading up to Agoura Hills to visit his mother and deliver our Christmas gifts to her. The remainder of the day will be filled with some specialty shopping and the exchanging of a very attractive peacoat that Cosette received for Christmas that was a size too small. The peacoat was one of the things on Cosette's Christmas list, and was added while we were in NYC a few weeks back and she must've been a bit cold! lol Anyhow, Dave B bought her this lovely coat and on Christmas, she had quickly tried it on for size (loving it so much that she didn't mention it being slightly snug on her!) I asked to see it on her yesterday and had noticed that we need to go up in size. So off to the mall again today! In between all of my running around yesterday... Elisa and I had been chatting and looking at the hotel pictures online for Bratislava. I really liked the accommodations that she found and so it was definitely a go! I was also browsing some lovely hotels for Krakow and for Vienna that I can't wait to share with her, and if she likes them as much as I do, then I'll be booking them early this week!! It was so nice to watch Dominic in his class yesterday as well, and then Cosette at her favorite place (the horse stables). After the kids activities, Dave B and I had gone to the Brea Mall to exchange a pair of shoes for Jet and to pick up one of my Christmas gifts from the Apple Store (is this store ever not busy???...the line was out the door!) I had also spotted a pair of pants that I had been eyeing and that were now on sale - well, I had to try them on! And I actually didn't really like them all that much...but by this point I had the itch that I needed to find another pair! So I did, and they look much cuter! Anyhow, we were also attempting to track down Cosette's coat while at Macy's and the only location that had them in stock was the South Coast Plaza (Dave had bought her's online), and so off we go in that direction later this afternoon! We had also managed some really fun online shopping for 'Shopping Saturday' and just can't wait to receive the packages!!! After I make dinner tonight, which I think I might try out a recipe for a Cauliflower Alfredo sauce (that looks and sounds DELISH!) We'll be heading to the movies to see the Hobbit! Fun times! And a GRRREAT Christmas Weekend!!! Hope that your's has also been such a blast! -T PS...Just had to deal with some pain in the butt network issues, so now I'm sitting on a curb in Santa Monica finishing this Daily! LMAO |
