It's a Wrap of a DayGood Day! Good Day!! You read that right - it's literally going to be a wrap up day. Last minute gift wrapping, finalizing the trimming of the tree and a trip to the supermarket for some necessities for Christmas Eve Dinner. Now, I'd like to let you know that I wrote most of this daily at 3:00AM. The silver lining of insomnia is that you can make progress on the next day's chores and duties! So, I decided to put the awake time to good use and get going on today's Daily Scoop blog! My tree is decorated!!!! Thanks to the creative efforts of Gianna and Kelsey, who directed the trimming detail this year, I'm proud to say, we now have a fully decorated tree in our house. With less than 2 days to go until Christmas Eve, I will be busy hanging stockings and putting all of our presents under the tree today. Our gorgeous Balsam is adorned with purple, silver and white decor this year! I usually set up the tree in the living room right near the step-up landing leading to my staircase to the second floor. It's very grand in this prominent location. However, considering Liberty's weakening legs, she has a very hard time and is fearful of the two-steps up to this landing from the kitchen side (they have sisal rather than plush carpeting), I opted not to situate the tree in front of these steps. (my poor Liberty Belle is 13-1/2 and not the spry girl she used to be - so sad) The new location this year is in our Sunroom, which honestly, is quite lovely as it's surrounded by windows and the beautifully lit tree is visible from the outside. The girls did an absolutely lovely job! Sorry for abrupt ending but we had an emergency with the death of a family friend :-( I was unable to finish my daily - will catch you up on photos and information tomorrow. -E | It's Christmas week!Only 3 more sleeps until Christmas!!! How very exciting! Hi there! I am literally writing this from the car in the middle of a parking lot while having a huge shopping day and I just want to give you a quick update on this fourth day before Christmas! Since I'll be in the kitchen almost all day tomorrow I'm getting all my food shopping done today. And because of special items that need to be purchased for both Christmas Eve and Christmas Dinner, I need to make various stops to at least nine different markets! Today also happens to be my sweet dear niece Mika's sixth birthday! Happy birthday Mika! Speaking of which little Mika had a fun filled birthday party thrown for her yesterday at Irvine regional park! My day was switched around a bit due to Jets extreme exhaustion from the long day at the birthday party! We had skipped doing the Christmas train which happened to work out anyhow because they were sold out! We had also skipped going to the mission inn festival of lights which will be rescheduled until after Christmas. Upon us deciding to reschedule, Jet had asked me "how do you live your life?" I'm so tired and you are busy every day! And since I am so busy, I'm gonna continue moving and wish you a very wonderful Monday!! I've gotta get everything done, before heading to the IPC Christmas party tonight, and then we are going to see a late showing of 'Night at the Museum'. Ciao 4 Now, -T |
