Travelin' Tuesday Trip ProgressI love TRAVELIN’ TUESDAYS! We get to bring you into the fold of all of our latest travel plans. This week I have lots to tell you about. Let’s take a look at our progress: Cousins Niagara/Toronto Road Trip: Tanya and I booked our hotel a few weeks ago for Niagara and began discussing the rest of the road trip. But, as of Sunday, my friend Denise was on board to join us on this trip - making it a true caravan trip! Now, she and her family are booked in the same hotel as us!! I’ll keep you posted as we finalize the Toronto portion of our trip!! Here’s our itinerary so far…CLICK HERE. Cousins Yellowstone Road Trip Ok, as of today, I have my airfare booked for me and the girls. Tanya worked hard on finding us accommodations in West Yellowstone for the greater portion of the trip. She found a great condo for all six of us at a great price. We still need to figure out our accommodations for the first 2 nights in Jackson Hole. Check out our trip so far CLICK HERE Tanya & Elisa’s Milestone Birthday Trip to Eastern Europe I have to tell you, I’m getting so very psyched for this trip!!! Tanya and I booked our round trip airfare last week. Unfortunately, we will not be flying together, but we’ll meet up once we each arrive in Prague, Czech Republic. The good news is, however, we will be together the entire trip! We made a hotel booking for the city of Prague, right in the Old Town Square. We also updated our trip page (CLICK HERE) with our wish list of places and sites we want to see in each of the cities. If you have visited this page in the past, you may have noticed that we changed our trip route from counter clockwise to clockwise. Beginning in Prague, we will then head to Krakow, Poland; Budapest, Hungary; Bratislava, Slovakia; Vienna, Austria; and returning to Prague for one night and then departing for the U.S. We will surely keep you posted!! CHRISTMAS TO DO’S: Day 16: Adopt A Family What can be better than being charitable around Christmastime? A number of years ago, I decided to “adopt a family” for Christmas through our church. It was truly a wonderful thing. If this sounds like something you’d like to do this holiday season, check with your church or synagogue and see if they have a list of less fortunate families. In our case, we had a choice of providing dinner only or dinner and presents. We were given a list of which food items to provide, along with the ages and genders of the children and what to buy them. I took the kids shopping with me and they helped me to pack and wrap as well. It is really a wonderful feeling knowing that you are helping others, less fortunate. I loved the idea of having the children of the “adopted” family open up gifts on Christmas morning!! Doing something good for the soul this time of year makes you realize what Christmas is all about! See ya back here tomorrow! -E | Lots of upcoming Travel!Heya! Howya doin? We finally have our tree up, and as of yesterday it's all decorated and the lights are twinkling! Silly me forgot to take ANY pictures of this event. Darn. My board meeting got cancelled last night, and after the kids choir rehearsal we went to the South Coast Plaza. We picked up what we needed to, and in addition Cosette did manage some shopping success! The countdown continues! Only 9 more days until Christmas!! And today is Travelin' Tuesday! What a perfect day to post a traveling story! Today I've posted one from my recent trip to Iceland and our Northern Lights Adventure!! Knowing me, you know that I'm either thinking about or planning travel 7 days a week, but on Travelin' Tuesdays is when we bring all of our Travelin' updates to you! In addition to all of the exciting fun cousins trips that Elisa and I have planned out and that she has mentioned on her side of the page (please be sure to check them out). Here are a couple more new bookings made this past week: 1) I have extended our Ski Utah Road Trip to include Lake Tahoe and make the road trip a loop, rather than just out and back! 2) I managed to finally book our Vail hotel for the extended weekend Vail Ski Trip that will include watching the FIS World Championships (which was the inspiration for this trip). 3) I booked our car rental for the insane road trip that I will have next summer after returning from our Eastern European Rail Trip: I arrive back from Prague on a Friday night, on Saturday morning Dave B, Dominic and I drive to Cincinnati for the 86th MLB All Star Game. A few days later Dave flies out and heads back to CA, and Dominic and I drive back to NY, pick up Cosette (who is staying at Elisa's during those few days), and then we drive up to New Hampshire to catch up with the family reunion (dad's side of the family) for a few days. This then lead us into the Cousins Niagara/Toronto Road Trip, and then once Elisa, Denise and the rest of the gang head back to NY, the kids and I will be heading to Virginia Beach to do some more visiting! This trip will take us over 3200 miles! And all of after this driving, we'll be returning back to SoCal (flying), and about a week later, I'll be leaving on Dave and my Anniversary Trip - a Southern Caribbean Cruise (and a wonderful relaxing break from all that driving!) Whew! And there ya have it! I'll be busy at travelin' again come 2015 which is only 16 days away!!! Now time to go plan some more! And take the kids to yet another Christmas Performance!!! Catch y'all back here tomorrow, -T |
