Change of Plans & Memories of Churchill War Rooms
Hey there!!
Happy Friday! So happy the weekend is here. However, I do have some not-so-good news. The weather report is predicting terrible downpours for tomorrow, our Christmas in the Big Apple day. You guys know that rain is never a deterrent for me, but I know that for such a festive day, it would just not be enjoyable for the girls. We had planned to do a great deal of walking - from Penn Station to Rockefeller Center and Fifth Avenue and then back to Times Square. I really want this to be a fun and enjoyable day for us!! So, I am pretty sure we are going to do a "post-Christmas" Big Apple Day, when we return from Puerto Plata. We'll follow the same itinerary that I had put together - including our lunch at PS Kitchen.
You may be asking - what will we do instead all day tomorrow. We've already discussed this and decided that will be doing some fun and silly shopping at Walmart. Yup! My girls wanted to look around for some "inexpensive" tees for vacation, as well as some craft items that Gianna needs for her art project.
We will follow up this little excursion with a lovely lunch at Season's 52. The rest of the day will be spent relaxing and perhaps even watching a few movies. In the world of Elisa & Tanya - me and my cousin finally had a chance to chat this morning! She was out and about awfully early and we were able to catch up - just slightly. Still trying to find some extended time to discuss our Sicily trip and finalize our itinerary for June-July 2019. New Article ... Were you aware that Sir Winston Churchill, the two-time Prime Minister of England has some very special ties to the Bronx and United States in general. Read all about it in this Travelin' Cousins' column this week in ThisIsTheBronx.info. (read full article) Winston Churchill’s Intimate Connection to the Bronx
I think I have seen almost every movie and documentary there are about Winston Churchill (ok - probably not every one - but certainly many!!). He was just such a fascinating man.
Visiting the Churchill War Rooms in London was one of my favorite tourist experiences ever!!
