Friday Re-cap of the WeekWell, here we are at Friday! Did your week go as planned - I hope everything went well and that you enjoyed it! Monday This week was a busy one, even though the girls had off on Monday for a Catholic holiday. The rest of the week was relatively full. Here on Travelin' Cousins, I posted my review of Love Letters on Broadway, which I hope you enjoyed! I strongly recommend trying to catch this show starring Alan Alda and Candice Bergen through December 18th or with the new cast of acting pairs through February 15, 2015. Tuesday We woke up to a helluva rain and wind storm Tuesday morning as Gianna battled the weather and headed off to school. Kelsey stayed home, yet again, on Tuesday, due to the terrible downpour with the nor'easter we experienced here on Long Island and I just felt why risk her getting all wet and drafty after being out for two weeks. Here on the blog, it was Travelin' Tuesday and I posted links to all of Tanya and my "Upcoming Trips" during the next year and the recent bookings. I hope you had a chance to check them out as we are moving right along with our respective and joint trip planning! Wednesday Kelsey's monthly Brownie Meeting was on Wednesday and what a fun Christmas party! We had pizza and cookies, learned all about the Girl Scout Cooking season (which begins December 12th) and decorated Christmas stockings - all while listening to Christmas music. Here on the Daily, I shared an article about Staying Fit While Traveling. I'm hoping some of these exercise suggestions come in handy on your next trip! Thursday Yesterday was a fun day! After spending Wednesday evening filming Gianna prepare and bake Italian lemon drop cookies for her YouTube Channel, Michele 16, we packed up these tasty delights to give to our favorite veterinarian, Dr. Joseph Silverman and the staff at Garden City Park Animal Hospital. After school on Thursday, we made a special delivery over to the office! We really hope they enjoyed the surprise cookies! I posted another installment (Part 9) of Elisa's Throwback China Adventure for Throwback Thursday which featured the last night of my stay in Beijing, back in 1991. Foodie Friday is one of my favorite days!! Tanya's got it covered today! She will be sharing her dining experience at Blossom Cafe. Please CLICK HERE to read all about it!! As for me, I'll be collecting my two nephews from their house and my girls from school at 12:40 to head up to the Bronx to the New York Botanical Gardens to see the Holiday Train Show. Please read all about this annual tradition in my earlier post from November 18th when I featured this on my "Where to Go Wednesday" post We will top off the evening with a delicious meal on Arthur Avenue in the Bronx and then head back home to Long Island. **************** Well I think this is a great way to end a jam-packed week!! I'll be back here tomorrow to continue my "Christmas To Do's" for Shoppin' Saturday at Travelin' Cousins!! Here's to a lovely day and the beginning of a wonderful weekend! -E | Let's hear it for Friday!Well hello there! So glad that you could make it! It's a rainy Friday here in southern California, and that is definitely my favorite type! I am a rain lover! Tod ay, I'm gonna touch on... A few different topics, so I hope I don't lose you! Just so ya know they all pretty much have one thing in common - ME! For one, I wanted to share with you that while I was thinking about travel last night (which I so often do) I started to get SUPER overwhelmed! There are just so many places that I want to go, and so many places that I already love going and must keep going back to that my personal calendar is already going into 2019 and well beyond! I can't help it, I only want to do it all. Even as a child I always needed a plan and I didn't want to miss a beat! Secondly after thinking about that topic... It brought my thoughts to my upcoming birthday and turning the BIG 40 ... Can you believe it? I can't. I already have a hard time realizing that I'm 39. LOL Honestly, I have to stop and think about it when someone asks my age! But who cares anyway, it's really just a number, and I don't feel any different than I did when I was 20. So BRING IT ON!!! However...since I like to celebrate and turning 40 sounds like something to celebrate...and since I'm kinda having 2 birthday trips as it is... 1. To the Azores and 2. (a combo BIG birthday celebration with Elisa) to Eastern Europe. I figured that I should commemorate my 40th by visiting/traveling/vacationing to at least 40 cities for my 40th in 2015!!! Now on a completely different topic... But also about me...I was chatting with Dave B, and he had found several similarities to my blog and to when we were first dating! Hahaha So I guess it's kinda of like I'm dating the internet! You get to hear all of my little stories, and get to constantly learn new things about me! So please court me along and feel free to share things about yourself in the comments - I'd luv to know more about you! Also as of yesterday... I had finally decided that for our road trip skiing adventure to Utah, that we will do a loop and first head up to Lake Tahoe for a few days on our way to Park City! Everything is booked!!! And then once we are all done having our fun in the snow, we'll drive through Sin City on our way back to Orange County completing the loop and of course being sure to make a yummy pit stop at Ronalds Donuts while we are there! Woo to the Hoo As far as today goes... I'll be taking the kids to do some Christmas shopping, and then to yet another performance later this evening. And I'm kinda thinking that we might go to the movies late tonight and see Horrible Bosses 2. Later this afternoon, I'll also be posting my issue of the Fabulous Foodie Friday on Blossom Cafe in NYC, and I promise it'll be a real treat! Stay tuned and come back often... I'll be waiting for ya ;) -T |
