Keep Exercising When TravelingWelcome back! Well, we are in the midst of a huge nor'easter here on Long Island. I was going to get my hair done today, but then thought I'd wait until tomorrow since the winds are going to be pretty strong. Hope you are all staying safe and dry if you are in this area! Travelin' Tuesday... I just love Tuesdays because its the day we really go in-depth and talk about our travels and traveling plans. This past week, Tanya and I did soooo much planning for our respective upcoming trips as well as some updating of our Travelin' Cousins website. These trips now have planning pages for your reference and interest: * Tanya's Ski Utah Trip Check back for more information about Utah skiing as Tanya adds to this page. * Tanya's Winter Carnival Quebec Trip (Feb. 2015) I had originally hoped to go on this trip, but the kids had other ideas in mind. But, check out all the excitement that Tanya and her gang will be in for on this annual Winter Carnival with activities that include such as winter sports, snow sculptures, canoe races and dogsled races. * Tanya's Ski Vail Trip This page is New!! Check back for more information about the excitement Tanya will encounter as she is going to see the 2015 FIS Alpine World Alpine Ski Championships in Vail * Elisa's Florida Theme Park Road Trip (Feb. 2015) The Family and I opted out of Quebec Winter Carnival to go on a fun-filled kiddy theme park road trip that will include the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, Disney World, Universal and LegoLand. I've added our full itinerary and I'm just about complete with the trip planning! * Tanya's Azore's Trip (March 2015) This exciting trip to the Portuguese archipelago of the Azore's is in the process of being finalized. Tanya still has lots to do to finalize her itinerary but read up on the excitement of this fascinating place. * Cousin's Yellowstone Road Trip (April 2015) Yay!! Another Road Trip this Spring! I finally finalized my airfare for me and the girls and Tanya and I are now working on our accommodations now that we have decided on where we will be each day of this 8-day trip. * Tanya & Elisa's Milestone Birthday Trip to Eastern Europe - June/July 2015 I have to tell you, this is perhaps the most exciting of all the trips I'm planning! From the moment I arrived in Prague last Spring, I knew I would be back soon. And now, not only will I be going to Prague and Vienna again with my dear cousin, but we'll also be visiting some other way cool cities too! Our itinerary will be: Prague -Krakow - Budapest - Bratislava - Vienna - Prague. Tanya finalized that route this week and secured our round trip air tickets! Next, we will be working on accommodations in each city and then the sites we will see. Last step will be our rail tickets for traveling. * Cousins Niagara Falls/Toronto Road Trip - July 2015 This page is newly added. Tanya made our hotel reservations for Niagara Falls this past week and began plotting out our road trip itinerary north through New York State to Niagara Falls and Toronto. Keep checking back as we add more to this page. *************************************** "Staying Fit While Traveling is Easy" I have a special feature for you today since it is Travelin' Tuesday - If you are like me, you sometimes worry about breaking your exercise routine when traveling. They are currently offering 40% off with promo code 40WSALE good through December 9th. Well on with my day! Hope you day is fantastic!!! -E | Pay it ForwardHi there! Thanks for joining us! It's Travelin' Tuesday and I cannot believe that I've only been back in California for 1 week!! Time goes by at such a change pace for me, sometimes it seems like time is just flying by and other times (like now) when I look back, it seems like time nearly stood still! Lots of Informat ion... I'm not going to mention too much today regarding our up coming trips; as Elisa has already covered a great deal of information for Travelin' Tuesday on her side - Please be sure to read! <<<-----<<<-----<<<-----<<<-----<<<-----<<< Not too thrilled with this.. . What I will mention is that I still need to book accommodations for our trip to Vail for the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships. I am so pissed off with how much ALL of the hotels and resorts have jacked up their prices during this event! It is really rather ridiculous. Just to give you an idea of what I'm talking about...even the Comfort Inn (of which there is NO chance that I'm staying there for this trip) has raised their prices to over $300 per night! So you can begin to imagine the prices per night at the places I'm interested in staying!!! Can you can chhhh-ching $$$$ - UGH! Actually when I was looking this morning, I was super stoked - found a beautiful resort that I haven't since listed before, and the price was around $200 per night - which was AMAZING! Well, then I noticed that the dates got erased from one page to the next and I had to re enter them, once I did the price sky rocketed to almost $1,900 per night!!! Highway Freakin' Robbery! I'll keep you posted, and keep my fingers crossed that I can find something that I'm happy with at a price that won't be breaking the bank!! Ok, vent session over. Spreading Cheer, Peace and Love... Yesterday went off without a hitch and we took the kids to their performance, which was at the Fairview Developmental Center for their Christmas Party. The International Peace Choir gets booked to do this touching event every year, and the residents look so forward to hang our kids sing and dance for them that it really warms my heart and brings tears to my eyes. I can be such a softy! After the performance, all of our Ambassadors had mingled with the crowd and wished them each a wonderful Holiday. It was very touching to say the least. Keeping plans... After the performance, we went to the movies as promised, to see 'The Hunger Games Mockingjay'. My friend Jodie had joined us and we caught the 10pm showing, almost having the theatre to ourselves. The movie was quite different then the previous Hunger Games installments. Entertaining and enjoyed by all. And by at the end of the film we were each sitting on the edge of our seats, now eagerly awaiting the 2015 release of Mockingjay part 2! As for today, I will be taking Cosette to her horseback riding lesson. This will be her first lesson since we left for NY and Iceland on November 11th. So, you can imagine that she's pretty darn excited! I also need to run into the market for some dinner supplies, and then this evening will be filled up from 7:30p-10:15p with Dominic's classes. Plenty more to do in the house and on the site, but that's about it for today. Hope you have a lovely day! -T |
