Throwin' It Back with Christmas Movie FavoritesWelcome back! Throwback Thursday is one of my favorite days here on Travelin' Cousins! Today, Tanya is going to entertain us with a story about one of her exciting travel adventures from back in the day! Click here to read all about it! Wednesday Mattinee... I had a pretty terrific day yesterday. I ventured into the city - NYC, to be exact - solo and attended a performance of Love Letters at the Brooks Atkinson theatre. When I heard that Alan Alda and Candice Bergen would be appearing together in this drama, I snatched up two tickets, in hopes that I would find someone to attend with me. Unfortunately, that didn't happen, so I wound up going alone. Boy, am I glad I didn't miss this - it was terrific! Catch my review next Monday December 8th. Booking Away... Was extremely productive in the trip booking area this week. I made progress on two upcoming trips for 2015: * Florida trip (February 2015): - Booked Airfare (finally, had to bite the bullet and settle for a $552 per person fare as these rates just keep going up. I'll be departing from NY to Tampa so we can stay in Clearwater for two nights and visit the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. Then, we'll drive to Orlando to stay in Disney World for a week and return to New York from Orlando. - Booked Rental Car as well. * Yellowstone Road Trip (April 2015) - Booked airfare for me, Gianna and Kelsey for this trip, for which we will be flying round trip into Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Rate not great at $489 per person but I think it's as low as I'm going to get it. Good progress, but more to do in the coming weeks! Christmas Season "To Do" Day 4... Since it's Throwback Thursday, what is better than watching some old school Christmas movies! I have a whole shelf in my den dedicated to Christmas movie videos. A few times a week during the month of December, I sit down with a big bowl of popcorn with the kids, kick back and watch these old classics. Brings back great memories from my own childhood: Here area few of my Top 5 favorites: 1) Rankin-Bass Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Santa Claus is coming to Town 2) A Christmas Carol 3) It's a Wonderful Life 4) Miracle on 34th Street (the 1947 original but kids prefer the 1994 re-make) 5) How the Grinch Stole Christmas REMINDER: * DON'T FORGET TO VOTE FOR US!! WE ARE SO GRATEFUL!!! -------->>>>>-------->>>>>>> That's all for today folks!!! Have a happy day! -E | Busy Month Ahead!Wow! This week sure is flying by! I can't believe that Thanksgiving was a week ago! And being that it's Thursday, here on Travelin' Cousins it's always TBT or Throwback Thursday, which we like to have a lot of fun with! Reminiscing about old pictures and travel stories, and then sharing them with you! This week is my turn to share a short little travel story/experience that I'll never forget! Read it here Yesterday had turned out to be a very productive day! I love getting stuff done! I managed to do plenty of Christmas shopping. I've have my list and I'm checking it twice, keeping track of who's been naughty and who's been nice! And like Elisa I was online booking away! I booked our flights to Vail in the beginning of February to go catch the 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships and squeeze in a little ski trip to one of my Favorite ski resorts while we're at it! I was also super excited to hit the purchase button and buy my outbound ticket to Prague for Elisa and my Eastern European Rail Trip!!! So much planning, and getting things done! It felt GREAT!! Almost made me wonder what I would possibly have left to do today...but you know me, and I always find things to do! Dominic had also resumed his Wednesday night class, and we'll be at it with his classes again tonight! I also received the schedule for the kids Christmas Performances and it looks like they're going to be VERY VERY busy! IPC Christmas Performances: Beginning this Friday, December 5th at the Lakewood's Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Next up is Saturday December 6th at the Santa Ana Zoo's International Day with Critters Then we have one on Monday, December 8th at the Fairview Developmental Center Next is Friday, December 12th at the Bixby Elementary School PTA International Week And then on Saturday, December 13th at the Bellflower Seventh Adventist Church Party A few days later on Tuesday, December 16th at the TBA And finally 2 performances on Saturday, December 20th at the: TBA Whew! I've gotta find the time to take the kids Christmas shopping, and at this point I just don't know how or when I'm going to fit that in along with everything else that I have to do this month! Now, perhaps you can understand why I try not to travel much in the month of December! Well, since I've found much to do I will bid you adieu! -T |
