Changes Left, Right, & Center Tanya's Daily Scoop CURRENTLY IN: ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Howdy! Howdy! Howdy! It's a new week and although I probably won't be traveling this week (I haven't decided yet if I am going on a quick road trip to AZ), it will still be quite an eventful one. There will even be a trip to California Adventure squeezed in! So I'm gonna to do my best to catch you up to speed here... Like I mentioned last week on our 10th Blogiversary - when I was OFFICIALLY BACK AT IT- so much has changed. 2020 was an absolute crazy time for the entire world and clearly also for us - your favorite Travelin Cousins. With everything completely haywire and with our new and not really improved schedules, we eventually lost touch with blogging and being that you guys (our readers) are such a huge part of our lives; being out of touch with you had both Elisa and I pretty much out of sorts. Something was definitely missing! Let me mention here once again, how very happy (in fact - ecstatic) that we are to be back at it again and like an old friend - we are just picking up right where we left off. In the meantime and during all the craziness of lockdowns and toilet paper shortages... There were so many other things in my life that were changing. As it was: "Tanya is a free sprit who resides in Southern California with the only family that she has outside of NY (you can take a girl out of the city, but you’ll never take the city out of this girl). Her housemates include her mom, her 2 sisters, her brother, her sister’s boyfriend, her niece, her 2 kids and her ex! Yup...all under one roof!" I'M GONNA GO AHEAD AND INTERRUPT RIGHT HERE. While I'll never stop being a free spirit and while I still reside in Southern California... I no longer live under the same roof with the same housemates (my fam bam). None of us do. We no longer live in that house on Bayberry. We the Bayberrians all had to move! Actually it all started with Cosette! Back in the summer of 2019. "We" (Cosette, Dominic and I) were traveling in London and this is when she broke the news to me that she (my precious baby girl) was planning on moving to Seattle!! Needless to say I was not at all happy with this information. Fast forward to January of 2021, I was one extremely heart broken mother. In all honesty even writing about this now... 3 years later and it still pangs and delivers blurred vision due to an eyeful of immediate and uncontrollable tears. She made good with frequent and several promised visits. Which was nice, but definitely doesn't compare to the comfort of being able to see my daughter daily and to know that she is close by. Then come June of 2021, the rented house that we called home for the previous 14 years was going to be sold and the Real Estate market flooded and over priced. Leaving the remainder of my fam bam all to disband... And now instead of us all living under 1 roof, we live under 6! Of course through the midst of all the crazy changes, the one thing that did not change was all the domestic traveling that I was doing. I actually did not start leaving the USA and getting my passport stamped once again until June 2023. ***I'll fill in more of the travel blank spots in the following blogs to come*** By the end of 2021 what was left of the relationship that I had with Birdwald Ponypants had become very toxic. And at this point there is really nothing more that needs to or should be said on this topic. Come May of 2022, there was yet another major change... Dave C. had decided that he was going to move to Virginia for a few years (it is unknown when he will return). It was going to be a road-trip and there was no way we (Dave Y & I) weren't going to be at his side and helping him behind the wheel. Major changes might have begun to halt during the rest of 2022. But then come February 2023 I get a FaceTime call from Cosette... she had some NEWS. Cosette became engaged! And the very next day she FaceTimes with me again and this time shares the news that the couple will be moving back to Anaheim Hills! (more on this in a future blog) Yeah and so just as most cliff hangers do, I'm gonna close out today's blog on this very exciting note. And I'll catch you back here on Thursday! Ciao 4 Now, -Travelin' Tanya | Jersey Boys on Long Island Elisa's Daily Scoop CURRENTLY IN: LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK Happy Monday!! Well, have you noticed how Tanya and I have just jumped right into things again? It's as if we never stopped blogging! This past weekend, I went to see a production of Jersey Boys at The John Engeman Theatre in Northport, Long Island. When Jersey Boys was on Broadway, I enjoyed the performance three times!! It is definitely one of my favorite shows of all time! The first time I saw it was in November, 2005 during previews. I could not believe how amazing it was and the casting was just impeccable - with John Lloyd Young in the lead, playing Frankie Valli. The next time I saw this play was in January 2006 with my then-mother-in-law. I had gotten her the tickets as a Christmas gift. It was a really great nice for both of us. The third and final time I saw Jersey Boys was in May 2013 with my daughter Gianna for her 9th birthday. (Click Here to read my article, Confessions of a Jersey Boys Junkie) Well, my Jersey Boys journey continued this past Saturday with Kelsey's first experience with this fantastic musical. And just like I knew, she really enjoyed it. I must say, that after all these years, there were quite a number of changes made to the play's dialog. Of course, considering that the John Engeman Theatre is a small Long Island theatre with a smaller crew, many of the dance numbers were not as elaborate as the Broadway production, however, the acting and singing was truly fantastic! And speaking of Broadway, Kelsey and I will be headed there this week to see An Enemy of the People starring Jeremy Strong of Succession fame. I'll be sure to take lots of pictures and tell you about it next blog!! Have a great one!! - Travelin' Elisa |
