Elisa's Daily Scoop Covering Long Island & NYC Boroughs
CURRENTLY IN: LONG ISLAND
$5 Movie Tuesday at AMC Theatres
A lovely (and steamy) Tuesday here on Long Island!
My little fur baby woke me up this morning to do her business and then was all to happy to snuggle up back in bed afterwards!!
Yesterday, Gianna and I spent most of the day together, just bonding. First we hung out for about an hour at Starbucks, where we enjoyed both a drink and getting some work done.
Well, at least I managed to do some work - Gianna had her laptop but was watching some of her favorite videos.
Then we headed over to the Apple Store to take a gander at the Mini IPad's. Gianna is allowed to bring a device to school this year in her new high school - which will help her with study guides, taking notes and alleviating the need to carry all her books for studying.
The mini IPad is probably the best option as it's not as heavy as her laptop and it will serve the purpose she has. We looked at them yesterday and decided to sleep on it regarding the size to purchase an will, more than likely go back this evening to make the purchase.
Of course, no outing is complete without some yummy food to end it!! The two of us hungry girls headed over to Havana Central to fill our bellies!
I had eaten there before, but it was Gianna's first time. We ordered some plantain chips and guacamole along with a vegetarian paella.
We were pretty darn full when we left and had a doggie food of both to take home!
As for today - I'll be bonding with Kelsey at the movies and a mommy-Kelsey meal.

Tanya's Daily Scoop Covering the West Coast & the World
CURRENTLY IN: SO. CAL
NEXT TRIP DEPARTS IN: 2 DAYS
I'm coming atcha from smoky and hot SoCal.
While so much of the state in Northern California is burning to devastation, a fairly local fire broke out yesterday afternoon.
I'll you one thing - there hasn't been any lightning. So that tells me that MAN has been the cause of these horrible flames.
I was full of stress and anxiety once I found out about the "Holy Jim" fire. The local Fire Department has alerted us to "Be Ready!" UGH
Thankfully there are no winds to speak of.
But really, this situation is so far out of control that this state has even gone to the extent of giving it a season - Fire Season!!!
How can I live in a place that not only has Earthquakes, but also has a "Fire Season"???
It's one thing and one thing alone - Family.
Now if only I could convince this family of mine that we should move away from this place.
Because I am more than ready to pack my bags!!
And speaking of which, I am pretty much ready to go. I need to pack another pair of shoes, my toiletries and the few odds and ends here and there.
Only 2 more days folks and I'll be on my way.
But in the meantime I will succumb to my usual local routine. And on Mondays that means choir rehearsal. With a stop at favorite Thien Dang for a bite of delicious vegan traditional Vietnamese food along the way.

Then after catching up at choir and after Cosette's rehearsal and Dominic working with the team of directors it was time to finally go and get Hug Life ice cream!!!
Hug Life Ice Cream is by far one of the best vegan ice cream shops around the world - and I've tried most of them.
The success of this shop has led to them opening a second location in the city of Orange that is in it's soft-opening.
On the way back from choir we went to the original location in Garden Grove. Which is always busy and usually has a line to the door. The help is friendly and efficient in moving through the line. And the product is definitely worth the wait!

Dominic got a double scoop cone (c)travelincousins.com
I finally tried their Ice Cream Shake (c)travelincousins.com
Dave and Cosette got double scoops in a cup (c)travelincousins.com
Each flavor was perfectly balanced and just oh so good!
This is not a vegan hang out by any means.
In fact the ice cream here is so good that most of the customers are not vegan at all. And if they happen to miss reading that it is Anti-Dairy Ice Cream, well I've heard a few guests be shocked to find out that this creamy goodness is in fact vegan!!
Well folks, I've got a day full of chores and errands to take care of, so I'm gonna log off and head out.
