Makin' my way outta Montana
GREETINGS FROM BILLINGS, MONTANA FOLKS!
While although I've been STUCK in Montana for the past 2 days, I am making my way outta here!
But not before checking out a few of the TOP 10 THINGS TO DO IN BILLINGS as well as share the few vegan food finds that I managed to try out. RIVERFRONT PARK
This is where all of the locals come to hang out and cool off on the HOT 98F degree summer days...
I personally found the lake to be much prettier than the river. Although beware of all the Goose/Geese POOP!
MONTANA HARVEST
As you may or may not be aware of, I enjoy a glass of fresh squeezed grapefruit juice every morning that I'm home and when I'm away I try my darnedest to find fresh juice to start my day. And thus on Sunday morn, we were on our way to seek out some fresh juices (or smoothies if we happened to fail).
We certainly felt luckily to come across Montana Harvest and just thinking about the fresh juice made my mouth began to water. Only soon to be disappointed as soon as we walked in to find out that the juice bar is closed on Sundays, Well although we missed out on the juices yesterday, we were sure not to miss out today. SOME OF THE NICEST PEOPLE ARE FROM MONTANA! There we were happy as can be with our juices, but what we were more impressed by were the kind, warm and ever welcoming people that we continued to come across while spending this unscheduled time in Billings. THE GROTTO - Billings one and only vegan restaurant!
THE GROTTO
So, as it goes I happen to be writing from the road and you'll never believe where I happen to be...
I'll give you one hint - it's not Minnesota! Be back soon to fill you in with more, -Travelin' Tanya |
My New TV Series Addiction
Hi there,
A new week and I've got a buncha stuff on my agenda. If you haven't noticed, I never made it to Pittsburgh (insert BIG DISAPPOINTED face). I decided that I truly needed to tighten the belt for the rest of the summer, until my house is sold. Not to mention, it's been a bit crazy with open houses and house showings and I felt it was important to hang around close to home. So, with that said, I'll be enjoying the local life for the next two months.
As far as a buyer is concerned, I do know that whoever buys my home is sure to have many wonderful memories in it, as did I.
Yesterday, I went for a little nature walk outside. My hope was to last longer than I did - only a mile - but it was so darn HOT!! I managed to get a few shots of the lovely neighborhood flora and the cutest little bunny!!
Guess what? I am hooked on another series that I am watching on Netflix. This time it's OUTLANDER.
During my recent visit to Starbucks, my friend suggested a few series to consider watching and Outlander was one of them. While I've always been enamored Irish and Scottish history, I have fallen even more deeply in love with it as a result of this series.
If you are not familiar with the story, which is based on a series of romantic fantasy books, it's the story of a woman who is visiting Scotland and visits a mystical area, whereupon she touches an ancient stone and it transports her back in time 200 years earlier to the mid-1700's.
Between the period clothing, the accents, the warrior spirit and of course, the handsome actors, I feel like I've been transported to Scotland!! AND - here is some even cooler news for all you lovers of Scottish history. It was just announced in HelloMagazine! that two of the show's stars, Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish that they will be starting a podcast with his co-star, Graham McTavish, which will focus on Scottish history and culture. The official descriptions reads ""Based on the Scottish Clans, their history, culture and the landscape of Scotland... if these two don't get lost or drunk. Or both." Just love this photo posted on Instagram by Sam Heughan (right) with his co-star, Graham McTavish promoting the new podcast series.
I'm currently on Season 2, so I had to stop reading the article which talks about Season 5, which is coming out in 2020. I could not bear a spoiler!!!
In any case, I told my sister last night that I'm heading off to Scotland to find a boyfriend! lol. Alright guys, I'll be making my way to The Bronx today to sample some of the food at the Kingsbridge Social Club with my girls. I'll report back tomorrow. Enjoy your Monday!! -Travelin' Elisa xoxo |
