Tanya's Daily Scoop
NEXT TRIP DEPARTS IN: 3 DAYS
Take a moment and feel the sun on your skin
Is it just me or is today kinda flying by?! I prefer my Saturdays to take their sweet time and allow me to indulge in the weekend for as long as possible :)
On this weekend Dave and I are celebrating our anniversary. Typically we celebrate on the actually anniversary and in much grandeur fashion, but this year I have the choir trip that we are heading on in 3 days (being away over the actual anniversary) and Dave has already used up just about all of his vacation time (and then some)!
If you happen to recall last year we went on our Magical Anniversary Trip - which was really quite MAGICAL!
Well well well, I have been taking a gander at the posts from the Magical Anniversary Trip and I'll be sharing the links with you very soon. Boy oh boy were there some wonderful times and a few really good laughs!
Now I'll go ahead and get on with the show - today's show and tell you about yesterday...you know how it goes.
It was time to go and visit with Angie once more and perhaps the last time that we will be able before we head out on our trip. Upon our arrival to the hospital - her bed and room was empty!
I had no idea where she was and I couldn't reach either of her parents.
So we waited and waited, hoping to finally get to see her before we had to go.
And yes when there was only about 15 minutes before we had to leave, we saw Angie approaching from down the hall with her parents at each of her sides. She was beaming. She had a huge smile plastered across her face and such infectious energy. It was a good day!
The hospital apparently has an open house "Beach Day" for the kids each summer and the kids get to leave their rooms and the floor to the room decorated like the beach!
The beach comes to them!
Angie had got to walk outside and feel the sun on her skin for the first time in over a month.
It's so sad to think that it's those little things that we all take for granted.
It appears that Angie might only have about another week in the hospital before she is released to go home. But the road ahead is a long one and she'll need to return twice a month for treatment. Let's please be sure to keep her and her family in our prayers!
I'm gonna get on with the day and celebrate.
Toodles,
-T
