A Different kind of Labor Day weekendHappy Saturday!! So, I had promised the kids that we would go to Adventureland one last time before school begins, and since we ran out of days, we decided today would be the day. I will be taking my nephews Nolan and Julian with us again so it'll be me and the 4 kids once again for as we journey to this Long Island amusement park for a day of rides, snacks and fun! It is kind of ironic because the last time we all went was the day after school ended. Now it's a few days before school starts. This year will be a very different kind of Labor Day weekend. It will mark the first time that I will not be spending this holiday weekend in Remsenburg. I had planned to be out there for a long weekend following my return from Italy. For a number of unexpected matters that came up, I had to make the choice to stay here in Garden City rather then a relaxing weekend in the Hamptons. That's why I figured a fun trip to Adventureland would make the weekend more festive for me and the kids since it makes me a bit sad not to be ending the summer in the traditional way. :-( Sometimes things don't work out as you had envisioned., but new doors find a way to open up when you least expect it. On a happy note, Gianna's molars have stopped hurting her! Of course, she now has an infection in her eye, for which she is treating with drops. But, at least she can eat, which she couldn't do with the molar pain. Can't wait to show you more pictures tomorrow from today's trip to Adventureland! HAVE A FABULOUS SATURDAY!! -E | On the Road Again!Hey Hey Hey! Guess where I'm writing to you from??? Doing about 70mph on the freeway heading to Las Vegas! Isn't technology amazing?! Of course I'm not the driver, just in case you were wondering! LOL Dave B is behind the wheel (that's why we are driving so slow!), I'm working in the passenger seat and the kids are rocking' out in the back seat! We chose to leave early this morning rather than last night, in order to avoid the massive traffic that heads to Vegas for the holiday weekend. I was hoping that some more of the family would've made the trip out. But that's another story. Basically, they don't go anywhere. That's alright, because I go enough places for everyone! Going to Las Vegas has been a recent Labor Day Weekend tradition for us, but this weekend will be slightly different. We usually do the shows, dining, shopping, and running around. This weekend we are gonna chill out and just relax. Of course there will be plenty of eating yummy and delicious meals! There are just so many wonderful chefs that have opened highly acclaimed restaurants in Vegas - this is not a town for dieting! There will also be relaxing at the gorgeous resort swimming pools! And even enjoying our beautiful spacious resort suite. This may all sound normal or even average to most of you. But if you know me, you'd know that this is unheard of... I usually get these amazing and beautiful rooms/suites and hardly ever spend any time in them because I'm running around all day and night. So I think these guys (Dave, Dominic, & Cosette) are looking quite forward to this "different" style trip. And I'm okay with it right now, because we just got back from a wonderful and very busy vacation in Europe. I'm kinda thinking that we will probably throw in a little shopping too! Speaking of shopping, I did manage to get over to Sports Chalet last night and added to the Christmas gifts that I've been accumulating! I also went and got a mani/pedi for the trip, I needed to chill out from the stress of still dealing with lost luggage. - I couldn't go to Vegas without a new mani/pedi! As the saying goes "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" - but since when do I listen! I'll be right back on here to give you the full scoop tomorrow! Until then - I hope you are in love with life, have well being, are happy, play fair, and remain safe! Over and out, -T |
