Wave Hill Labor Day and Fall Events to Attend and Vegan Southwestern Pasta Salad
What a gorgeous weekend forecast for this 2019 Labor Day weekend!!
Today is a pampering day for me - getting my hair done and then back home to do some writing.
Me and my girls have a big day tomorrow as we'll be heading into the city to TKTS in Times Square to nab some Broadway Show tickets to celebrate Kelsey's 13th birthday, which is coming up in 15 days - literally 2 weeks!
If you are not familiar with TKTS, they have three locations in Manhattan where you can get same day show tickets at 50% off. I love to try different methods for getting Broadway tickets.
We've done the Broadway Roulette last summer (actually, it was exactly a year ago today!) whereby you select a day you would like to attend a show and then the morning of the performance you are surprised with the show you will see!! It was really fun! We saw Getting The Band Back Together.
So, in much the same way, we will be quite surprised to see what is available to purchase tomorrow when we arrive.
As per usual, I have a new article published in ThisIsTheBronX.info.
This week the feature is:
Wave Hill’s ‘Twilight in the Garden’ and Upcoming Fall Events
This week I recap my absolutely lovely visit to Wave Hill last Thursday evening with Gianna, and detail some upcoming events for this Labor Day Weekend and the coming weeks at Wave Hill.
My first visit this past week to Wave Hill, the absolutely gorgeous Bronx public gardens, was truly breathtaking.
Although the foremost reason for our visit was to spend the evening in the Aquatic Garden within this 28-acre venue for their weeklyTwilight in the Garden, my teenage daughter, Gianna and I were mesmerized by the beauty of our surroundings upon entering and enjoyed our brief time exploring.
We could not help but take our time strolling and stopping for photos along the way to the Aquatic Garden where the evening’s events were taking place. Read full article...
I'm also thrilled to bring you my usual Foodie Friday Vegan Recipe of the Week.
This week, it is Southwestern Pasta Salad, complements of Veganricha.com
While everyone is doing barbecue for Labor Day, how about a yummy Pasta Salad.
I just LOVE anything southwestern and I found this pasta salad to make and bring to my sister's house. While they are not vegan, it never fails that whatever I make, they usually love and cannot taste any difference between vegan or non-vegan.
I'll be sure to tell you how it turns out and the consensus!!
Well, hope you are planning a lovely, relaxing and safe weekend!!
