What's a girl to do STUCK in Billings, Montana?!
Yuppers folks, you read that correctly I am STUCK in Billings, Montana.
GREETINGS from Montana!
After many hours of travel and travel delays, we had finally made it to Missoula, Montana - where the beginning of our road trip would embark.
Following a very bumpy ride and I was sure glad to touch down and start my next adventure...
After picking up a truck, we were on our way to downtown Missoula to grab some grub. Luckily I found a place that had a few vegan menu items - Conflux brewing.
I ordered the Quinoa Stuffed Poblano and for being out in the middle of nowhere (Missoula) and probably surrounded by a great number of hunter; I was happily surprised and impressed to have thoroughly enjoyed this plate and all of it's tastiness that also came with a bit of a kick (spice).
Little did I know or expect that by morning my adventure would turn out to me not having a vehicle to take me on the rest of my planned road trip to New Jersey!
I was also going to check off the last 2 of the 50 states for me to visit: Minnesota and North Dakota. But since the vehicle I was here to pick up is actually missing, I'm now in limbo until the corporation's headquarters re-open on Monday morning...
At which point I hope that means I get another car or else the road trip is getting cancelled and I'm booking at flight outta here!!!
Stay tuned, -Travelin' Tanya |
80's Themed Friday Evening Promenade in Garden City, Long Island
It's Saturday and Sunny!!! We have really been blessed with GORGEOUS weather the past few days!
Last night me and the girls headed to Seventh Street in Garden City for the weekly Friday Night Promenade. Gianna was meeting her friend, so my girl Kelsey and me enjoyed some bonding time together!
We had a quick dinner and then headed to one of our fave places on Seventh Street - The French Workshop, which is a wonderland of pastries, baked goods and breads.
As you can well imagine, with all this French goodness, there is not much for a vegan. However they do make some of the most delicious breads and fortunately, most that they offer, are dairy free and vegan safe!
Trying to watch my waistline, I passed on any of the edibles, but Kelsey partook in 2 yummy, mini apple puffs. The one pictured I was able to snag a photo of before she downed it, while the other remained in the bag for later!
Last night's theme was 80's. I know I was lived through the '80's both in high school and college, but, honestly, it's not my favorite music era. And now, in retrospect, I can see how much I really don't enjoy much of the music from this decade. lol.
However, the band was terrific and did a great job replicating many of the classic pop songs from a variety of 80's artists, making the music very enjoyable. In other news.... Your's truly has been spending a great deal of my free time writing lately. I'm working on two book projects which I'm not going to tell you about right now. But, trust me, I'll be sharing all the details with you as the projects come closer to completion. I'll give you a teaser - one has to do with travel (shocker!) and touring; and the other falls into the category of self-help. I had told my Dad about these projects and it just breaks my heart that he is not here for me to share them each step of the way of my progress. (insert tears). As I write this Scoop today, I'm actually waiting for my slow poke daughter, Gianna to get ready so we can head off to LifeTime and the pool. It's very sunny now, but my understanding is that we may get some shower later -- thank goodness, she just came down the steps. Ok - we're off! Have a fabulous day!! -Travelin' Elisa xoxo |
