Vegan Afternoon Tea Services in London to Check out
A big Saturday hello!!
WHAT A GORGEOUS DAY HERE ON LONG ISLAND!!! I just want to scream about it - cool (mid 70's) and sunny, dry and breezy - the perfect day!
My day started off early to get Gianna over to her hair appointment. It has been a year since she got highlights and with two weeks before school begins, she was more than ready for a touch up. And because her hair is sooo long now, we will be at the salon for at least three hours. (yes, I'm writing from the salon).
So, jumping back to last night - we went over to visit mom and simultaneously, I did 4 loads of laundry. We all hung out and then ordered in some dinner. When I tell you I was FAMISHED, I barely got the plastic covers off our take out Greek meal as I began ravaging the food. As I was about to write my recap, I realized I didn't even take pictures of our food - which, by the way, was DEE-LISH. I ordered a Falafel Dinner (which came with rice and a yummy peas and onions in tomato sauce side.
We also ordered a nice, bug serving of Hummus with fresh, homemade pita bread.
Gianna ordered a medley of stuffed vegetables, which included a pepper, zucchini and tomato. Everything was vegan!! YUM. Oh well, you will just have to picture it all since it was gone before I could even attempt to snap a shot of any of the food. Speaking of food... One of my all-time favorite foodie things to do is Afternoon Tea. I know I speak for my cuz Tanya and my girls when I say that it is one of their's too! Nothing is better than the Afternoon Tea service in London. As you may recall, we cousins had a lovely trip across the pond to London back in April 2017, much of which included daily Afternoon Tea excursions.
Sooo... today, I received a lovely guide from Afternoon Tea UK blog. I did a full search on all the current Vegan Afternoon Tea services around London, which I invite you to click on and peruse each and every one of them.
However, I'd like to share two of these in particular with you that I have yet to enjoy and plan to on my next trip to London!! Ever on the search for fun and cool things that my kids will enjoy, 1. Vegan Mad Hater's Afternoon Tea at Sanderson Hotel L 50 per person
I was captivated with the Vegan Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea.
According to the description, "The stylish Sanderson hotel has crafted a a delightful vegan version of their inventive Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea. Tumble down the rabbit hole and enjoy a range of delectable treats inspired by Alice in Wonderland created only with vegan ingredients." How fun!!! And it goes on, "Discover menus hidden inside vintage books, teapots adorned with kings and queens, and sandwich plates decorated with zebras, birdcages and ticking clocks." And the best part is that their offering is full of yummy sounding creative assortment of both savory and sweet options that feature mushrooms duxelle and avocado sandwich and a chia seed wrap with wild rice, bean salad and quinoa, as well as a delightful Tweedle Dee's orange and peanut butter cupcake and the dark chocolate chessboard gateau with the Mad March Hare beetroot and almond Battenburg. 2. Cafe Forty-One at La Suite West From L35
Out of all the options, this one caught my eye because La Suite West, a London luxury boutique hotel, conveniently located minutes from Hyde Park, exclusively serves vegan food,
Offering breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea, seven days a week, La Suite West has been serving vegan food in its restaurant for quite a few years. However, the exciting news is that its new head chef Clarisse Flon has chosen to introduce a selection of delicious French vegan food so that Café Forty One is now the first in London to offer vegan French pâtisserie!
Now, let's take a look at their menu.
#### SANDWICHES Chipotle cheese with caramelised onion chutney and rocket on rye bread Brioche roll with cream cheese and smoked carrot 'salmon' BLT with eggplant 'bacon' and mayonnaise on sourdough Mediterranean hummus and cucumber on farmhouse loaf PÂTISSERIES OF THE WEEK Selection is displayed in the restaurant. Raisin and plain scones with homemade berry compote, vegan honey and clotted cream Glass of non-alcoholic fizz Choice of freshly roasted Italian coffee or luxury loose-leaf tea selection. #### SUPER YUM FACTOR!!!! I thought our last trip to London was an eating fest, but it looks like the next one will be filled with even more! A huge thanks to Afternoon Tea blog contributor, Annabelle Randle for this great write up!! And just in case, you are not heading over to the wonderful UK anytime soon, here are a list of great Afternoon Tea options in New York on Long Island.
