Twilight in the Garden at Wave Hill
Hey there!
Well, I will tell you - between Tanya's crazy travel schedule and my "selling my house, getting kids ready for school, and writing schedule" we have been quite remiss the past few days. Big apology! However, I'm BACK today! But, not for long as I head north to The Bronx to Wave Hill. Tonight, we're going to enjoy Twilight in the Garden: Sonic Experience-Gamelan Dharma Swara in the Aquatic Garden.
According to the Wave Hill website, the event is described as follows:
"Gamelan Dharma Swara have been described by The New York Times as “an ambitious and powerful ensemble who plays gamelan as a living language.” Now entering its thirtieth year, the 25-person ensemble will present an evening of works spanning centuries, exploring the many facets of the Balinese performing arts." I'm going to be completely honest here - while I'm really looking forward to this event, I'm not sure my 15-year old Gianna will feel the same way. So, I did what every good mother who wants alittle company does - I didn't tell her what we were going to see. (SHHH). In any case I cannot wait. In other news, I did some sunbathing with my fur baby, Punkin today. She just loves the sunshine and lying on the grass in the yard!! After Kelsey's fourth and second to last day of prep class for her Fall Catholic High School Exam, we two gals headed off to lunch to one of our fave local joints, Burger Bites! They have a super delicious veggie burger, which I completely enjoyed and devoured!! Kelsey got her usual "Chicken Bites and Fries."
Off to get a few things done before heading to The Bronx!!
Back tomorrow with a totally yummy Vegan Recipe for Foodie Friday!! -Travelin' Elisa xoxo |
