I need to be cooled off
I am just not someone who can take the heat!
I am not a fan of high temps and yesterday not only were the temps getting up there but SoCal is now becoming a wee bit humid as well - that equates to completely miserable in my book!
This type of weather also usually equates to Summer storms and SoCal is definitely not the place where you'd expect this type of weather pattern. But with all of this being said we had quite the little storm that rolled in yesterday with the skies full on ROARING like never before - and I've had my share of Summer storms.

This thunder was the longest and the loudest most vicious that I've every heard. It sounded like a bomb went off in my backyard - GOD FORBID!

Luckily I was able to manage helping the kids out with the packing for our soon upcoming Road Trip. The kids bags are pretty much packed. The packing list for this trip is rather easy peasey.
I pretty much collapsed on the floor between packing with each kid...it was cooler down there! LOL
I didn't quite get around to doing my own packing - which is something that I have to do today.

Somehow I managed to squeeze in doing some exercise - because this gal right here has been bad and hasn't been to the gym since getting back from our last trip! GASP
That's okay - I already have a plan to workout with a partner while away during the upcoming trip.
I also finally gifted Jet with her birthday present (that just arrived in the mail yesterday).
It was like a mini-Christmas!

Good 'ol UPS had not only delivered her gift, but also a a few other things that I had ordered. We received our Eclipse tee shirts, our Eclipse sunglasses, and our Arctic towels (which I'm hoping will come in quite handy for the trip and the rest of summer)!
This was a product that I saw in use by a friend from choir. She showed me just how easy it was to use and I can honestly say that I was amazed by the temperature difference this towel or as I like to call it "piece of genius" can make!!
The rest of my evening wasn't very exciting, we took Dominic to his class, had dinner, and then Dave and I went to see DUNKIRK in IMAX as it was intended.

And while it was without a doubt a well made movie. I had the assumption that it was going to be rather depressing - ya know a real downer...
However being that there was really no character development (after looking over Chris Nolan's resume, I don't think Mr. Nolan is quite good at that aspect of movie making).
There were no attachments to any of the characters and the audience. Leaving the end of the movie rather anti-climatic.
Not a bad movie by any means, just not as good as it could've been if the audience had a real connection to any of the characters.
I've got some shopping to take care of today to get my kitchen through the weekend, as well as some other "special" items to pick up. So I'll get to packing now and get on with my day.
