Hi there and HAPPY WEEKEND to ya! In fact Happy National Relaxation Day to you. Bet you didn't realize there was such a day... I know I didn't! While some of us could totally use a day set aside for relaxation - there are others of us (you know who you are) who spend most of their time doing just that - relaxing. Well I say good for you! I love the idea. But I am just always on the go. Always busy. Always with too much to do. Speaking of being busy, I literally just landed back in OC. With stops in Vegas, Salt Lake City, Denver & St. Louis, it's been a busy week of running around for me. So as you can imagine it is in times like these I like to reminisce back on moments that I've had around the world of when I've had pure bliss relaxation. Not to mention that of course I am also day dreaming about all of the future experiences that are out there just waiting for me! Such as these: Ahhhh the memories. So many where these came from and so many more to come. For now I'm gonna catch up with the fam bam and stay cool - it's HOT out there! Tootles, -Travelin' Tanya | Hello there! I sure hope you are starting off your day in a happy way. Here on Long Island we have some sunshine which is always a great way to start of the weekend! Did you know that today is National Relaxation Day? To tell you the truth, this came as a surprise to me and Tanya, so we decided that in lieu of our previously scheduled features today, we have each decided to take a walk down memory lane to some of our favorite "Relaxing Travel Moments." Just so you know, I was going to focus on some amazing Mini Road Trips Throughout the Outer Boroughs of NYC. That article will be front and center next week! Getting back to today, according to NationalCalendar.com, "National Relaxation Day on August 15th encourages us to slow down and unwind. It’s a day to focus on taking care of ourselves and take a moment to relax." I think that after the past several months, we could all use a bit of relaxation! Here are some of my Relaxing Memories: San Gimignano, Tuscany, Italy Il Borghetto Tuscan Holidays My week long Tuscany stay was the most relaxing part of my Italy trip back in August 2014. Our vacation villa in Pietrapitti is quietly located in the Tuscan hills, surrounded by trees and greenery filled with unending rows of Rosemary and Lavender, provided a respite for an otherwise very active trip. If you have never been to the Tuscan countryside, it is a must - it's like a little serene paradise of trees and vines and rolling hills. Prague, Czech Republic Vltava River Day Cruise The Lunch Boat Ride on the Vltava is a must-do and a most relaxing part of mine and Tanya's European Rail Trip in July of 2015. Whether you go for lunch or dinner or any of the other "themed" cruises, it's so much fun to view the city of Prague from the water. Great views!! The food was a well-rounded selection of vegetables, salads, meat, poultry and fish. After chowing down a bit, Tanya and I took a walk upstairs to the top deck, where we caught some rays and enjoyed the great breeze traveling down the Vltava! I had a bit of a problem staying awake today - as you can see from the pictures Tanya took! I have not gotten much sleep and last night I was unable to sleep because I was too revved up over the trip to fall asleep! I could have slept like a BABY on this boat with the cool breeze and the heat of the sun. Bronx, New York Evening at Wave Hill Just a lovely way to relax amidst the incredible gardens and overlooking the views of the Hudson. Great way to spend a relaxing summer evening! Here are a few more relaxing moments which I hope you enjoy! Here's wishing you a super relaxing weekend!! -Travelin' Elisa xoxo |
