August Adventures to Kingsbridge Social Club, Wave Hill and Central Park
Weekend again! And here on Long Island it is gorgeous, sunny and low humidity!
And lucky for me because it was time for me to get my hair done today. It seems as if I need to do "touch ups" sooner and sooner. Ugh, the trials and tribulations of getting older. Moving right along, I've got some fun stuff coming up on my to do list. With my house up for sale and the busy activity (thank goodness!), I have had to postpone a few local visits that were previously scheduled for July. These include:
Kingsbridge Social Club, The Bronx
You may remember that last Monday, me and my gang were on our way to The Bronx to visit this highly recommended pizza restaurant when we had to shorten our day due to an interested buyer. So, I'm planning to try again to visit this coming Wednesday, August 14th.
Secrets Places of Central Park: The Walking Tour - NYC
I've rescheduled mine and Kelsey's day in the city for this tour for this upcoming Saturday, August 17th. If this tour is anything like RevolutionaryToursNYC.com last tour (The Revolutionary Tour: Washington & Hamilton) then we are in for another amazing day!!
Wave Hill, The Bronx -
I missed the festivities and celebration for the new book: Nature in Art: The Gardens of Wave Hill last week. I did have the pleasure of speaking with the book's author and photographer for my story published yesterday (Nature in Art: The Gardens of Wave Hill). So, I've rescheduled my visit for August 22nd for their evening event: "Sonic Experience: Gamelan Dhara Swara (Traditional and Experimental Balinese Gamelan), which takes place at 7PM followed by Stargazing in the Garden, 7:30-9:30PM. Last night, me and Gianna watched a movie together - a blast from the past - 1999 that is, thanks to On Demand - with the ridiculous comedy, DICK.
This silly comedy is about two high school girls in 1973 who wander off during a class trip to the White House and meet President Richard Nixon. As a result of this encounter, they become the official dog walkers for Nixon's dog Checkers, and become his secret advisors during the Watergate scandal.
Time to get my hair washed! See ya'll back here tomorrow!! Happy Saturday! -Travelin' Elisa xoxo |
