Make it a Sunshiny Sunday!Helllllo! Happy Sunday! Well, I'm not loving' the cloudy, gloomy weather here on Long Island today, but I am happy it's still the weekend! Today I have to go over to the mall. I really am not a fan of the mall -the parking, the crowds and now that they are doing all kinds of construction at the Roosevelt Field Mall, it's somewhat of a nightmare. In any case, I promised Gianna we would go get her a pair of casual slip-on shoes for our Italy trip. This kid's foot is growing so fast! (insert G) I spent some time last night organizing my toiletries and carry-on bags. I decided to pack 2 bags - my small backpack and a small duffle. Both fit nicely in the front zippered part of my suitcase. I always like to bring an extra bag that I can check if I somehow end up with more clothes than I came with (even if I don't buy anything - I never understood how it feels like I have more coming back than when I left!). My back pack is good for our day trips so I don't have to lug my large carry-on tote that I like to bring on the plane. I have a great carry-on bag. I bought it on Amazon and it's made by Travelon. It wheels and came as a set with a second large tote bag which has a flap that allows it to slide onto the long handle of the wheeler for total hands-free when walking. I use the wheeled case for all of my toiletries, make-up, camera and chargers. The tote fits my small cross-over purse, laptop, itinerary & tickets and other incidentals. I use these to go everywhere, whether overseas or local road trips. Very convenient, lightweight and functional (insert carry on and tote). The carry-on fits under the seat or in the overhead. You can get this on either the Travelon.com website or on Amazon. (both links bring you to the carry-on page). I believe it's cheaper on Amazon. AND if you sign up for Ebates and access Amazon through Ebates, you will get cash back for this and purchases at hundreds of other retailers as well. Tanya introduced me to Ebates and I've collected hundreds so far in cash back. We both go through the site for booking many of our hotels through Booking.com, which pays 2% cash back. Love sharing money-saving tips!! And speaking of Booking.com, Tanya and I are going to book our hotels today for our Quebec Winter Carnival trip in February. We'll be talking more about this in September when we are settled back in from our August European travels. So that's my exciting day! I'm hoping that today or tomorrow I will see my sister Danielle and the boys before we leave on Tuesday. AND DON'T FORGET TO SUBSCRIBE TO OUR BLOG SO YOU CAN FOLLOW US EACH DAY OF OUR RESPECTIVE 3 WEEK + TRIPS!! Back atcha tomorrow!! Have a sunshiny day! -E | Passing along the savings on to you!Hiya weekenders! Good to see ya back here! Since I've been kinda curious, I think it would be kinda fun to find out how and how/where we are connecting with you... Yesterday was rather pleasant. It started out with me going for my much anticipated Mani/Pedi. Dave B. also decided to get his own mani/pedi right along side me! I think my toes came out nice, but to be honest I knew walking out of the salon that I would need to go back in there on Monday because I wasn't happy with how my ring fingers came out. Immediately after our relaxing pampering, we went to go get our juice on at Nekter! Always fresh and yummy! Then off we went to hit the mall - for a successful shopping trip (and as you know I LUV shopping!) A few errands thrown in, and then before ya know it, it was time to drive up to LA for our Date. Ringing in the first night that Dave B. and I met! On the hour+ drive up to LA, there was such an awesome sunset! I wish you could've been here to see it with me. It was such a fiery sky, so vibrant in color. With deeply saturated hues of purples, blues and reds. I tried to photograph it, but the pictures can do no justice. We were driving, and the shots just don't capture the essence of its stunning beauty. Anyhow, upon arrival to Crossroads Kitchen, there was a beautiful surprise bouquet of roses waiting for me at table! A very lovely dinner followed. One of which you can be sure that I'll be writing about in an upcoming Foodie Friday! Make sure you are SUBSCRIBED (see above), so that you don't miss out on hearing about what celebrities we dined along side with, at this LA hotspot! As for today, we'll just be wrapping things up in preparation for our trip (can't believe that it's in 2 days!!!!), also gonna spend time with the clan, and my dear Cosette is looking so forward to going to the stables this afternoon. It'll be her first time since we've returned from our trip Back East! We'll also most likely be going to the movies later this evening. Hope you are spending your day doing something that makes you smile! Have a wonderful Sunday! -T Wanna save a few bucks???
