BRAND BALLOT'S TOP 100 MOM BLOGS FOR 2018!!
Elisa has been very busy dealing with the health issues of her father (my uncle). She will be back to join us here on the blog just as soon as can can. -T | Time for Mountain Biking in MoabOn the road again. Howdy folks. I am currently en-route from Cedar City, Utah to Moab Utah. You might be wondering what I’m doing back in Utah since I only just got back from Utah a few days ago. Well folks that last trip (less then a week ago) was my last ski trip of the season and this here is my first mountain biking trip of the season! Originally however this trip was planned for next weekend... But when I found out that my 7 year old niece Chaplin was having her 2nd dance recital next weekend, I rearranged my calendar, moved a few things around and made the switch to this being the extended weekend to Moab. So after a number of errands, chores and taking (coaching) Cosette ice skating yesterday, it was time for Dave and I to pack up the bikes and leave SoCal once again. However while busy loading the bikes we had noticed and heard a HUGE C17 plane flying awfully low and doing circles around Anaheim Hills and Yorba Linda. It was a little bit disconcerting at first. But once I had eventually confirmed the reason it was flying right above, it all made sense. The C17 was there to do a fly-over for the home opener of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Eventually we did get on the road and our next stop wouldn't be until Sin City - Las Vegas and heading to Nacho Daddy for a late night dinner and break from our drive. The food was good as usual and once we filled our tums we drove along Las Vegas Blvd and then onto the interstate 15 which would take us through the Virgin River Gorge in Arizona and then into Utah. We didn't arrive to Cedar City until well past midnight and into the wee hours of the morning. We actually arrived just about 10 minutes too late... Although our room had been pre-paid and although I had called ahead to inform the property of our late arrival time. The hotel had done a night audit and since we hadn't checked in, we were considered a NO-SHOW! The only thing that they could offer at that point was issuing a refund for the first pre-paid room and charging us for another. UGH Now if refunds and charges were all equal and you received your refund just as quickly as these banks like to take your money, then this would be no big deal. However since this is NOT the case, the refund will hopefully get to us some time next week and we had to pay for the room a second and unexpected time. Well we needed sleep and that is what we got. Not waking up all too early today, but once we did, we were right back on the road again. Next stop: a mountain biking trail! High ho silver away I go, -Travelin' Tanya |
