WE APOLOGIZE FOR YESTERDAY'S DAILY SCOOP - THERE WAS A GLITCH WITH OUR WEB SERVER AND INSTEAD OF EMAILING YESTERDAY'S DAILY SCOOP, IT SEND OUT ONE FROM OCTOBER '14.
Please CLICK HERE for yesterday's full blog post: April 19, 2015
Yesterday, we had quite a little unfortunate situation on our Daily Scoop. After posting our Daily Scoop and publishing it (with all our photos!) - Tanya and I were completely taken by surprise to find out that our published site did not have our recently published text!!! Instead, there before us, was our Daily Scoop from October 16, 2014 - my birthday!
Now, that would not have been such a big deal except that we posted a bit late yesterday because we had spent the morning in Grand Teton National Park, so literally within minutes of publishing our Daily, our scheduled email WITH THE WRONG BLOG was emailed to our subscribers!!!
Both Tanya and I were freaking out! to say the least. Tanya immediately got on the phone with our server - who was of no help!! Next thing, Tanya told me to erase all the text and photos so we could leave a message to our viewers. Amazingly, as soon as I deleted the last bit of text - lo and behold - our April 19th blog appeared before my eyes!! WHEW - sorry again for the inconvenience. -Elisa & Tanya
Elisa's Daily ScoopPhoto Ops, Views & Great Accommodations in JacksonHey Guys!! Well, we are back in business today! What a fiasco was yesterday with our Daily Scoop mishap! But, it's way behind us now. I'm going to get right down to the business of traveling news! This trip is nothing short of amazing so far. Starting here in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Grand Teton National Park, the views and the landscape are awesomely spectacular with the variety of colors and textures I am LOVING it here! Our morning yesterday was spent with all the cousins meeting up bright and early at my hotel. It was great to have the whole gang back together after a 5 month hiatus! (Last time we saw each other was at Thanksgiving in New York). Our original plan for yesterday was to drive around Grand Teton and then walk one of the shorter trails. In the end, we decided to forego the hike and head back to the hotel and get our blog done. The girls wanted to go in the pool with our newly freed up afternoon but that plan was delayed slightly as Tanya and I struggled with our web server mishap for more than an hour until we got things back on track. Whew! Thank goodness situation worked out in the end. Check out Tanya ready to punch her poor, helpless computer!!-->>-->> Last night, we headed into the town of Jackson Hole and took a lovely stroll, with lots of photos and laughs. Unfortunately, because it was Sunday night, all the stores were closed (insert sad face), so no shopping for us. This didn't stop the cousins from having fun around the town and amusing ourselves in other ways. Read Tanya's side to hear about how Tanya and I got reprimanded by one of the local sheriffs! --->>>--->>>--->>> After that little reprimand, I will admit, I was a little scared to take the picture of the kids climbing on the arch - but we went for it anyway! So what ever happened to the trail walk around Grand Teton Park that we decided NOT to do yesterday?? We are headed back this morning to do it!! Also on our agenda are the following: * Elk Refuge of Jackson (We were advised by some locals to take the "secret" road where we were told there should be sightings of moose, wolves, big horn sheep and of course, elk) * Moulton Barn (one of the most famed areas of Jackson Hole, over 100 years old and not far from where Jackson was first founded. * Grand Teton Craig Thomas Discovery & Visitor Center (followed by our Trail Walk) * Caravaning to Yellowstone This should take us three hours with a few scenic photo ops along the way. ******************** Folks, allow me to insert a little information about my accommodations in Jackson Hole! Rustic Inn Creekside Resort & Spa. Adorable little cottages souped up with flat screen tv's, dvd player, marble bathroom, priced great, breakfast included, beautiful grounds and only 3 minutes drive into town! I highly recommend it if you are planning to visit. Only 2 days down on our Cousins Yellowstone Road Trip and I have more photos and stories of our trip than I am able to fit into my column - so please check out Tanya's side! Talk to you from West Yellowstone tomorrow!! -E xoxo | Tanya's Daily ScoopCausing Trouble in JacksonHey everyone! It's Monday again! How was your weekend?? Mine was FABULOUS, thanks for asking ;) Yesterday sure was a good time and it was so nice to rendezvous with my travelin' partner in crime! Elisa was able to upgrade her rental at an amazing rate and to my surprise we were all able to ride together through Grand Tetons National Park. The morning started out at 19 degrees, and we all happily piled into the Ford Explorer, Elisa drove and we took in the Gorgeous Peaks of the Grand Tetons from several different vantage points, each with plenty of oooohs and ahhhhs at the majestic beauty. Each of us got some completely and utterly amazing photos!! (Coming soon to our Galleries) All was well, the temp had gone up to 44 degrees and we decided that it was best to head back to the hotel. Finishing the daily everything was going smoothly, but then BOY-OH-BOY did we have a scare (with the server BS). We had heard a rumor that there was a male Grizzly hanging out around Oxbow Bend (where we were heading). However we didn't happen to spot him (relief) and instead spotted herds of Elk, and Buffalo. That really raised my adrenaline and put me in a little funk. Luckily that nonsense didn't last too long and I was able to sit back, relax, and enjoy watching the girls play around at the pool. I say the girls because Dominic was in desperate need of a nap and stayed back at our hotel with Dave. The warm sun beat down on us, Elisa and I chatted away and the girls had a great time splashing in the water. Then my eyelids began to get awfully heavy and at the time I could've really enjoyed a nice little nap. However when I went back to my hotel with high hopes of finding Dominic snoozing away - he was wide awake and it was Dave who I found sound asleep! And by then my own lull had passed on by. Just in case you were wondering, Elisa and I stayed at different hotels these past two nights. Being that I've visited Jackson a number of times, I try out a "new" place each time. Having already stayed at the Rustic Inn, this time I opted for The Parkway Inn - which was only located a few blocks from The Rustic Inn. And I bopped back and forth between the two. We ended the night having a pleasant Italian Sunday Dinner and strolling through the main town square. There happened to be a bunch of construction and us "city folk" were jay walking right in front of the Sherif! We got called out on it, and told when to "properly" cross. After taking a ton of fun photos we called it a fairly early night. And now after being on the road for 7 days, and doing more than my share of eating yummy foods... Heck it was a vegan foodie road trip, it was kinda like I was obligated! But now I'm totally looking quite forward to a nice home cooked meal in our shared condo in West Yellowstone. I think we all we're in need of a few extra winks... And here we are on Day 2 of the Cousins Yellowstone Road Trip and guess where we are going??? We'll be heading over to West Yellowstone, but not until after we check off the rest of what's on our agenda (see Elisa's side) . Catch up with ya'll from West Yellowstone, Montana tomorrow! It's time for us to go boogie, -T |
