A weekend in Monterey coming up...
Greetings my dahlings!
How is everyone on this very fine Wednesday? Although I'll have you know that I really thought it was Tuesday.
Well as I left off with you yesterday, I was heading out to the stables with Cosette to meet with the vet since we got a call from the stables office alerting us that the horse seemed thin to them.
Have you know that this call we received was on the day after Cosette and I were there at the stables visiting Dream and we had not noticed or thought to ourselves that she looked thin.
So as you can already see, this was frustrating.
We had the vet meet us there yesterday.
I had explained the situation to her and the first words out of her mouth was - this horse is not thin. "What is the office's problem?!"
I'll tell you what the problem is - people like to stick their nose in other people's business.
No wonder there is the popular quote that I'm sure you've heard of...
Here are a couple more that I found to fit the bill..
Well Dream got a clean bill of health and that's enough about that.
As you know, Dave and I are heading up to Monterey on Friday. We'll be stopping along the way for dinner in Santa Barbara at one of Matthew Kenney's plant-based fine dining restaurants - Oliver's.
The menu really looks great and I'm looking forward to the dining experience.
I started contemplating the same thing that Elisa seems to have already contemplated. Shortening the trip to instead of a 2 nighter to only 1 night.
Simply because I really am a bit up in the air about our plans for Sunday.
Friday and Saturday are of course all booked up with lots and lots to do. But Sunday...what to do on Sunday?
I kinda feel like I've done it all up and around Monterey and would love to find something new.
Then I did just that. I found that there is a "new" National Park. You know how much I love National Parks!
Pinnacles National Monument was established in 1908 by U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt. Pinnacles National Park was created from the former Pinnacles National Monument by legislation passed by Congress in late 2012, and signed into law by President Barack Obama on January 10, 2013.
We all know that I'm not a fan of waiting or big crowds. So at this point I think I'm gonna skip this idea. But when I spoke with Dave about if we should do 1 or 2 nights, his vote is for 2 nights.
Guess when I figure out what we are doing on Sunday is when you'll find out what we are doing on Sunday! LOL
And on that note - I'm outta here and signing off. -Travelin' Tanya

Day Trips to Stony Brook & The Bronx Ahead
It's hump day once again and I just feel as if these week are flying by faster and faster.
Well, at least we are getting closer and closer to the warm weather.
The next few weekends, me and the girls have some fun plans on our agenda.
This coming weekend, we will be heading out to Stony Brook, Long Island. Originally, we were going to do an overnight, heading to Stony Brook Friday afternoon when the kids get out of school.
But, I decided to forego the "sleepover" part when I found out that Gianna had scheduled plans with her friends.
It doesn't really change much of what we were planning to do overall, I just rearranged it a bit.
Now, we will be driving out east early Saturday morning and returning the same evening.
Here's what our day trip looks like:
* Pick up breakfast on the way
* Arrive Stony Brook mid morning
* Long Island Museum of Art, History & Carriages
* Tour of The Stony Brook Gristmill
* Afternoon Tea at Robinson's Tea Room
* Walk Around & Shop at Village Center
* Visit St. James Chapel
* Dinner * Drive home
I think it will be a nice little break for me and the girls with lots of delicious eating!
