Why would you choose a BAD attitude?

Hiya Hiya Hiya!

As expected, I am coming at you from the road, as Dave is behind the wheel and we continue our journey to Moab.

We are now in the Mountain Time Zone, so we lost an hour last night (an hour of sleep that is)!

Yesterday was just one of "those" days...It was a pretty much nonstop multi-tasking type of day as I waited for Dave (who went into work) to get back and for us to hit the road.

But Dave is a Taurus and they (at least the ones that I know) rarely ever are the timely types...But they sure do like taking their time!
​So once he got back, there were the typical Dave delays as he was in search of a missing stamp!
The man has a serious stamp obsession. I'm obsessed with travel. He is obsessed with stamps.

Eventually he gave up and we hit the highway. By this point I was already starving and dinner wasn't until we reached Las Vegas.

I managed to munch on popcorn for the drive to hold off on the pangs of hunger. LOL

Dave was behind the wheel and let it be known that he was uncomfortable. It had been a windy couple of days and his allergies had been bothering him and causing his eyes to feel swollen.
But the fact is he just had a lousy attitude altogether. I had offered to drive, but as usual he declined my offer. 

We arrived into Vegas and headed straight for Nacho Daddy. A fun and happening place that keeps late hours and makes delicious food...as well as Scorpion Shots!      GASP!
​Which I imagine you have to be well on your way to being drunk before agreeing to drink one of those!

Anyhow since trying Nacho Daddy for the first time last year (actually it was on our way to Moab in 2017) I thoroughly enjoy everything I have ever tasted at Nacho Daddy. Such flavorful food!

I have also introduced a number of friends to the restaurant and it seems like just about everyone who's ever tried the place always comes back for more!

However, although the restaurant was bustling and music was pumping Dave was practically falling asleep as he ate his dinner. And he was finally gonna take me up on the offer to drive the last 2+ hours. 

So as he hugged a sleeping bag and snored into dreamland, I belted out tunes from Chicago, The Kings of Leon...

And one of my all time favorite groups - The Killers!

And one of my favorites on this particular CD is 'Where The White Boys Dance' - I'm actually surprised that Dave was able to sleep through the one gal party I had going on! LOL

But once the grouch woke up and saw me rockin' on, full of energy at nearly 5am (local time) he commented
        "I don't know why I sign up for these?!"

          Really? REALLY? REALLY???

What a party pooper! I mean come on. The one thing in life that you have complete control over is your attitude. What they heck not adapt a good one?

Well after a little nap at our hotel, we woke up (3 hours of slumber) in St. George this morning and it was definitely colder and windier than I expected. 36F degrees before the windchill.

Ridiculous me decided not to pack cycling pants and now I'm wishing that I did.  It's not the temp that is all that bad, it's the damn wind.    I can only hope that once we arrive to the trailhead that the winds have died down...

Nightmare Averted in The Bronx

GOOD DAY TO YOU!! HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

I'm super happy the weekend is finally here.  It has been a very busy week.  Even Punkin was too tired and didn't want to wake up this morning!

Yesterday was a fabulous day, spent in the Bronx!  I am determined, along with my friend and associate, Alex Maruri, owner and managing director of Bronx Historical Tours, to bringing this NYC borough to the attention of residents throughout the tri-state area, in terms of just how many amazing places, events and historical sites, there are to see.

Many people near and far have an inaccurate view of The Bronx as a gloomy, dark and dangerous destination.  But, what they don't realize is that it is just like any other place - a little bad here and there - but overall, lots of great stuff!

I intend on focusing on the many Must-See places over the coming months and hope that it will inspire you to take a short day trip to check these spots out for yourself! ​And if you are coming into NYC from out of town, these features should convince you to put The Bronx on your travel itinerary!

In the meantime however, you may want to visit his exhibit, "The Bronx-La Villette" which is on display at the Poe Visitor's Center in Poe Park in The Bronx through Saturday April 28th, Tuesdays through Saturdays.

A little side story from yesterday.  As I headed to my destination, Mottley Kitchen, in The Bronx, where I was meeting Matteo for breakfast, I was so happy and proud of myself for finding a parking space!  Lord knows, it's not an easy feat snagging a "good spot" in any of the boroughs in New York City.

Well, cut to me departing the cafe, I notice that all the cars are double parked on my side of the street, which is the OPPOSITE side that I parked on!!  Oh no! It's alternate side of the street. I forgot this little important tidbit when parking in the city.

As I was making my way up the block, walking in somewhat of a panic, I was hoping; no praying that all I had was a ticket:  "PLEASE DEAR LORD, DO NOT LET ME FIND THAT MY CAR WAS TOWED!!"

Well, thank goodness my cute Hyndai was still there - the only car on that side of the block, mind you, but still there.  Sure enough, on the windshield  was a ticket.  I held my breath as I went to see how much they banged me for, but still ever grateful that there was no towing to deal with. 
$45 - not bad - and a total nightmare averted. WHEW!

Folks, please check the signs, as I failed to do when parking the street in the 5 boroughs.

And that's about it for me today.  I will be taking the girls out to dinner tonight to a new place that opened a few weeks ago, here in town, The French Workshop and telling you all about it tomorrow.

Lastly, me and Kelsey are headed to a performance of  In The Heights tomorrow at the John W. Engeman Theatre in Northport.  Great way to spend a Saturday bonding with my youngest!!
