Our trip is finally here - we've been planning it for a little over a year and I can hardly believe today is when we start our London Vacay!
Why is it that no matter how much and how often I travel, the day before a trip -- no matter how well prepared I am - the "to do's" never seem to be complete until the last possible minute?!?
Just normal stuff - like taking out the garbage and making sure the car is locked or that the fridge is cleared out.
Anyway - all is good and we are on our way. With a taxi pick up at 4:45AM this morning, we said goodbye to Long Island and headed for JFK International.
I'm going to keep it short and sweet today guys as I'm running out the door.
I'll be taking tons of pics and videos throughout the day so I can tell you all about our Day 1 Travels.
Thanks for following and see ya back here tomorrow from the other side of the pond!!
Tanya's Daily Scoop NEXT TRIP DEPARTS IN: 5 DAYS
My latest ADDICTION
Elisa is on her way!
Greetings from SoCal. How exciting for Elisa and the girls to be en-route to London!
Which also means that our countdown is ticking away and the kids and I will be heading that way to on the LONG flight to meet them in ONLY 5 days.
Now with most trips, or let me re-phase that - with most trips abroad or at least the lengthy ones, I would already be all packed and probably almost ready to go - but since this one is only 8 days in length, although it is across the entire USA and across the pond (the Atlantic), I seem to be taking my sweet time with our packing.
I can however happily say that I did manage to get the majority of Dominic's wardrobe packed into his luggage. Toiletries and small incidentals and his carry-on will be worked on between now and Monday.
I also wanted to get started on Cosette's bag, however the day kinda got away from me and I found myself hitting the gym later than I wanted to and by the time I got back it was already too late to eat/shower/or do anything for that matter - it was time to take Dominic to his class.
While at his class my nose my in my Hawaii book and finalizing plans for that trip!
When no sooner had a got a call that immediately led into my newest ADDICTION - lips! 💋💋💋
While I've always been a fan of make up - I've never been a fan of ANY specific brand of make up in my entire life - and not to age myself... I've tried them all. Sure they might be nice and some nicer than others - but nothing - nothing compares to LipSense.
And that my dears is why I signed up to distribute it - so that you all can share in my latest addiction and fall in love the same way that I did!
You can bet that I'll be bringing an assortment of colors to London and there will be no reapplying or worrying about my lip color wearing off or getting on everything.
In fact I'll be walking off of our 12 hour flight with lips as fresh as when I boarded the plane.
It's truly AMAZING stuff!
Anytime you are ready to try it out for yourself just drop me a line and let me know!
Now since Elisa will be in London this weekend (and I'll be with her in spirit) how about some cool London ideas for W2GW (Where to go Wednesday)!
This coming weekend is London's Easter Break and the Easter Bank Holiday and here are some fun and cool hand picked Easter activities for her and for you to partake in:
Easter Chocolate Market
The Easter Chocolate Market is making a much heralded return to 37 Duke Of York Square London.
On April 15th from 10am-4pm and alongside the regular Fine Food Market, it’s the perfect excuse for chocoholics and anyone looking for delectable gifts ahead of Easter Sunday.
The Square is rather a special place when it comes to anything chocolate related, since it’s overseen by the statue of Sir Hans Sloane – widely credited as being the ‘inventor’ of chocolate as we know it. The market will feature a range of established brands and handpicked artisan chocolatiers, so there will be plenty of mouth-watering confectionery to suit all tastes.
Why not treat yourself to handmade macaroons or Chocofruit sweets?
If you want to try something different, then Aztec Chocolate’s exquisite handcrafted vegan chocolate offers you an incredible chocolatey treat with a twist. The Square will also be playing host to Lavolio, who will be selling their delicious nutty nougat and fruit, nuts and jellies wrapped in cocoa and spices. And for a seasonal gift that chocoholic friends and family will love, go for a classic handmade Easter egg from the Hans Sloane company. Oh YUM! Does this sound sweet or what?!
Here's another super cool option: Nordic Sunday in London
10am on Sunday, April 16th *fee involved Experience some next level Scandi living with this immersive cultural tour starting at St Olav’s Norwegian Church in Rotherhithe. Meet at Rotherhide Overground.
Or what about:
The Newburgh Quarter Easter Quest is giving you the chance to win an incredible Easter Basket worth £600 packed full of goodies from Joy Everley, Johnny’s Chop Shop, Lazy Oaf, Drop Dead, Lomography, Kua ‘Aina, Department of Coffee and Social Affairs, plus some delicious chocolate treats from Choccywoccydoodah, too!
Runs through April 13th
Head to Carnaby’s Newburgh Quarter to take part in an Easter Quest.
Each day two riddles will be released over Twitter leading intrepid Easter explorers to a shop front on the quarter.
All you have to do is take a picture of the shop the riddle has led you to, share it on Twitter tagging @CarnabyLondon and #NQEasterQuest entries will have a chance at the chance of winning the basket!
That could be great fun!
Well guys, as I've mentioned, I need to finish packing and get on with the rest of my daily chores and errands.
