Elisa's Daily ScoopWhat a Hectic Day!Good morning peeps!!! What a gloriously lovely day it is today! Had to get the kiddies off to horseback riding this morning EARLY! Unfortunately, I think one of my tires has a slow leak and I needed to stop at the gas station to get air in it before getting on the road. The rest of the morning didn't go too smoothly unfortunately. We got to the barn just fine but along the way, Gianna began to feel increasingly under the weather. Her throat was bothering her and she felt very run down. I decided to drop off Kelsey at the barn and let Gianna forego riding. As soon as I got there, I realized that Kelsey had not eaten yet. So, I left her at the barn, with Lisa's daughter, Sarah and headed to the deli to get Kelsey and Sarah some food. When I arrived back to the barn, I was told that one of the horses had given birth earlier today! This little guy, who they named, Lucky Dream, was the cutest little thing I had ever seen!!!! I managed to get a few shots of the little fellow! From there, I drove over to the Hamptons house that I've been working on for the past few weeks to get ready for sale, where Lisa was already waiting, continuing the amazing painting job she has been doing over the past week. As soon I arrived at the house, we got a call from Sarah that she was having trouble breathing (she recently had bronchitis). Since Lisa was painting, I ran back to the barn yet again to pick up Sarah. Lisa managed to get quite a bit done in spite of us not having a ladder to reach all the way up the wall. So, it will be necessary for us to return one last and final time. I hung up some new shower curtains to add some color to the two bathrooms! Before I knew it, it was almost noon, and I had to head back to the barn to pick up Kelsey. Whew! What a morning! Yesterday I had something a little done to my hair - I had Sombray color. I really like the way it looks -- what do you think? My kids never have anything nice to say to me and according to Gianna, "it looks ugly." Can you imagine how rude that kid can be?? After a very busy morning - I drove back to Nassau for my 1:30 haircut appointment. Yesterday, I was so pressed for time, I was only able to get the color process done. Just as well, because having a nice blow out today will give me a fresh hairstyle for the opera tonight! I'm seeing Ernani at The Metropolitan Opera tonight with Placido Domingo. We'll start out the evening with dinner at Leopard at des Artistes right near Lincoln Center. As you can well see, my dear friends, my day is a crazy one. I wish I could write more but I need to get going. I wish you a wonderful day today!! See ya back here tomorrow!!!! -E xoxo | Tanya's Daily ScoopDo you need more time?Good Day and Happy Saturday to each of you! I sure had a lot of running around to do yesterday, but it seem like I got everything accomplished..or at least I hope I did! By the evening when it was time to take the kiddos to their rehearsal, while they there Dave and I went to get some tea, went shopping and quickly found a tent of our liking (as well as a new sleeping bag for Dominic, and a queen size air mattress - the new tent actually fits 2 queen sized mattresses!), and then we spent some lovely time at the bookstore. *LOOK OUT AHEAD: Side note and a quick vent session coming up!! Towards the end of our visit at the bookstore in came a group of teenage girls who were being all loud and obnoxious. Not at all being mindful of other customers or respectful of the surroundings. UGH! Does anyone teach or enforce proper library/bookstore behavior any more? I would strongly encourage that these stores post “Quiet Please” signs and if not abided, then the group/person would be asked to leave the premises. Such as when “no cell phones” signs are posted, or “no shoes, no shirt, no service”. Catch my drift? Just please go outside with your loud conversations and obnoxious behavior. Thank you for your time. Vent session complete! Back to my SCCOP: I’ve been known to play a lot of Q & A games, and one question that has come up is if you were locked inside of a store (of your choice) for a weekend, what store would you choose? My choice is always a bookstore. Generally I always start my visit by heading to the travel section! No surprise huh?! The next section I go to is the Vegan Cookbooks. And last night was no different. I went straight to the travel section and began pulling books off of the shelf. Found a not so comfy seat/bench and spent the next couple of hours flipping through books and adding to our up coming trip plans! As for this morning, it will be filled Dominic’s classes, our Saturday morning breakfast go-to Green Bliss and then there will be a little bit of pampering - which every girl needs! I’ve got a dinner date with Dave, and we are heading up to Studio City to try Gadarene Swine, which I only recently heard about that I haven't even had a chance to add it to my “Restaurant Bucket List”. I’ve read some really good reviews, and I can’t wait to try it out and to tell you all about it in an upcoming Foodie Friday! BTW did you have a chance to read Elisa’s FF review yesterday? If not click HERE for the link. Before leaving this morning, I was out in front of my house and overheard (which is impossible not to do) neighbors chatting about a trip that the guy (loudest talking man on the planet) had just recently come back from. He was raving, telling all about his activities, and what a marvelous time that he and his wife had. Yet what he continued to repeat was how there “just wasn’t enough time”. I totally understand where he is coming from. There is just so much to do and if you don’t budget your schedule accordingly you end up on what I like to call a “Sampler” trip, and that’s totally fine! I hope that you can make it back on a second visit to the said destination. I have had plenty of trips like that. My recent trip to The Azores turned out to be just that! Originally I thought it was gonna be a once in a lifetime vacation and that once would be enough. Well I was wrong - yeah that happens every once in a while! LOL Because I know that I want to (have to) go back!! And if you’re reading this and thinking "I don’t have the means or the time to go back to such and such." Well I’ve got 2 things to say to that… 1. You are in control of what you choose to prioritize and if you can’t “go back” it’s because you don’t “really” want to. Anything that we “really” want to make happen, we make happen! 2. If you don’t think that you’re scheduling enough time at a certain destination - then go ahead and extend the trip! Do all of your research before you do your bookings and that way you’ll know if you need an extra day or two (or three or four), and you can plan accordingly! Whatever you do, wherever you go, enjoy yourself, don’t worry, be in the moment, and always have a good attitude! Time for me to go enjoy the Worlds Best Acai Bowl! Hope you have a great day! Catch ya back here same time same place tomorrow, -T |
