Elisa and I are coming off of our first trip to Florida together! Can you believe that?! For years we have attempted to meet uo in the sunshine state, but for one reason or another it just never worked out until now. And what a great time it was to spend time with both Elisa and my Aunt. As usual, we do hope that you have you been following along. Ready for another look? Check out our shared blog below. Ciao 4 Now, -Travelin' Tanya | Hello Disney Food & Wine Festival & Wellness! Elisa's Daily Scoop CURRENTLY IN: ORLANDO, FL Hey there!! What a week this has been! Such a fun Florida trip for Tanya, me and Mom!! We only visited one theme park on this trip - EPCOT. Part of the reason was because we had other plans on our agenda, but let me just gently vent about how expensive the park tickets are these days!!! For one day at EPCOT, our individual tickets cost us $180!! That's just to get into the park - it doesn't include food or souvenirs!! Anyway, it is what it is at this point, and thank goodness we had the best time! We chose EPCOT since we wanted to experience the Food & Wine Festival together. So,... Let's take a trip back to last Friday at EPCOT and move onto our visit to the Staying Alivee Wellness Center in Cape Canaveral. Enjoy the recap! Till next time, -Travelin' Elisa |
If you have been following the blog over the past decade, you might remember that we were supposed to take a Disney World trip together in October 2016. At that time, Hurricane Matthew had other plans in mind and we never wound up meeting up together.
So, this was truly a monumental trip for us! We had planned only one day to visit the parks as we had a schedule full of activities for the five days we would be together. We, of course chose our favorite theme park -- EPCOT!! Not only do we both love EPCOT in general, but we especially love it during the Food and Wine Festival!
A few words from the World Showcase at Canada
However on this occasion it was a bit different...
On the night prior to heading over to Epcot, I had shown Elisa my Italian Minnie Ears, she then went to pull out a shirt that she had not intended to wear to the park but had brought along on the trip - the Pasta Minnie shirt. I said "NO WAY?!" I had no idea that she had this shirt and at this point I then proceed to pull out my Pasta Minnie shirt from my drawer (which I had intended to wear) - which she had no idea that I also owned and from that moment on we knew that we had to TWIN IT UP!
World Showcase at United Kingdom
World Showcase at France
If you haven't been on this ride, it is really lots of fun and as a result, the line can get pretty darn long. As we waited on the line, our hunger began to build, so we decided we had to have crepes following the ride!!
We both ordered the same thing - Melba "Buckwheat" Crepe with Peach, Red Berries Sauce, Almonds. We both thought that a dusting of powdered sugar would have finished off the dish perfectly, but unfortunately, they did not have it in the restaurant, which we both thought was rather strange. In any case, it was absolutely delicious!!
From La Crêperie de Paris, EPCOT
After a glorious breakfast, we decided that we were going to go through each "country" thoroughly - visiting each and every shop and scoping out the yummy delicacies that could be found. In France, we did a little shopping - well, at least Elisa did! She managed to get a very cute "Paris" rhinestone decorated t-shirt and a lovely Christmas gift for her mom!!
Here are some photos of our day in Epcot.

Mom had some trouble walking the miles through EPCOT, so we were able to get her a wheel chair pushing her through the park!
Of course the shopping didn't stop as the three of us made our last stop for the evening in the United Kingdom Pavillion and Mom treated us all to matching sweatshirts!!
SATURDAY OCT 26TH - CAPE CANAVERAL AND STAYING ALIVEE WELLNESS CENTER
We decided that since we were going to be so close, that we would pay a visit and enjoy the all that the center has to offer. Mom was excited too. Let us tell you a bit about the center --
The open space at Staying Alivee provides the energetic environment needed for the body to heal itself. Using advanced energy technology like the Energy Enhancement System (EE System), relaxing in the comfort of the reclining chairs and coaches within this energy supports your body’s natural healing processes—helping you feel healthier, more balanced, and more connected to your well-being.
After a lovely, leisurely 40-minute drive from Orlando to Cape Canaveral, we arrived at the center and were thrilled to be welcomed by the friendly manager, Santiago who gave us a full tour and explanation of how to best enjoy our 2-hour stay. The environment is rather cool, so we were encouraged to bring a sweatshirt and warm, cozy blankets were available for an even more relaxing experience.
Mel Carmine arrived at the end of our 2-hour session to say hello. This was the first time we had met in person, so it was nice to have an in-person conversation finally!
Our appointment was late morning and it's suggested that you do not eat for at least an hour prior to the treatment, as well as to hydrate well. So, the three of us were quite hungry when we left. Of course, we were sure to purchase a bag of their bath salts (which contained baking soda, epsom salt and borax) for a detox bath for when we got back to our hotel. It is suggested that a detox bath is taken within 24-hours to reap the full benefits of the wellness treatment.
We found a cute little eclectic eatery not far from Staying Alivee, in Coco Beach called Green Room Cafe. We all had sandwiches and refreshing drinks - the food was delicious! - and we all thoroughly enjoyed our respective meals!!
Till next time,
Ciao
