​NEXT TRIP DEPARTS IN: 11 DAYS

Oh what a Day!!!

Wow. What a totally awesome weekend I had!!

Of course it all started with my birthday being Saturday and with all of the wonderful festivities!! Did you read all about them and see all of the pictures in yesterdays Daily? If not CLICK HERE

And then with yesterday, going to and having a wonderful time at the Vegan Street Fair, getting to see my good friend Cherryl, making a special "pit stop" on the way home and then eating a fabulous homemade hand-cut pasta dinner that both my mom and daughter had prepared for me my *birthday! Can you tell that I love good food?!?!
Oh what a Day!

*I asked my mom and Cosette to make me homemade pasta and to not make it on my birthday but the day after, so that they were'e stuck in the kitchen all day on my birthday and were able to join me out and about for all of my fun-derful plans!

Meanwhile yesterday started out at Jamba Juice, because well why not start off the day of food with some fresh fruit and veggie juices that are so chockful of vitamins and oh so good for you!

And then off to the fair we went...

​As far as today goes, it's Monday!
The start of a new week. I'll be taking Cosette to the stables to see Dream, and we've also got some shopping to do before heading on out to choir rehearsal. I'm just pretty grateful that I don't have a meeting tonight!

And that is that, until tomorrow that is!

Benefits of Being a Gold Delta Skymiles American Express Card Member

GREETINGS FROM SUNNY FLORIDA!!

Wow, what a difference a day makes!  Yesterday, we left New York and it was quite chilly. Today, we are here in the warm southern weather with the palm trees blowing in the soft breeze.

Our flight took off at 3PM yesterday, which was really a great departure time. With the morning free, I was able to get a few last minute chores done.

Danielle and her family took us to the airport, which was remarkably empty!  No line at curbside check-in and security was a breeze!

I want to share with you, one of my travel secrets.

​As you may or may not know by this time, I'm a pretty loyal Delta customer.  As a frequent flyer, I have racked up (along with my girls), hundreds of thousands of points.

A few months ago, I decided to take the plunge and sign up for the Gold Delta Skymiles American Express card.  As a loyal 30+ year American Express card member, I realized that most of my charge card points were always going towards my flights on Delta.

So, I figured, I should earn additional benefits by signing up for a second credit card with Amex specifically for earning Delta Skymiles points.

What a great decision that turned out to be!!
Yesterday was the first time I put my benefits to use!!

As a card member, here are some of the benefits:

* Get 30,000 bonus miles after you make $1,000 in purchases on your new Card within your first 3 months. (GOT IT!!)
* Get a $50 statement credit after you make a Delta purchase with your new Card within your first 3 months. (GOT IT!)
* Get 2 Miles per dollar spent on purchases made directly with Delta. (YES!)
* Get 1 mile for every dollar spent on all other eligible purchases. (THEY ARE RACKING UP!)
* Check your first bag free on every Delta flight – that’s a savings of up to $200 per round trip for a family of four. (I TOTALLY ENJOYED THIS YESTERDAY AT CHECK IN!)
* Priority Boarding (WHO DOESN'T LOVE BOARDING EARLY!)
* No annual fee for the first year, then $95.
 
What I also found out is that there are benefits to be enjoyed at the Sky Club.  As a Gold Delta Skymiles American Express card holder, you get a discount to Airport Sky Club.  I was told yesterday that instead of the usual $59.99 per day per person rate, you can enjoy a discounted rate of $29.99!

This is certainly great when you have layovers or long waits between fights!

KELSEY & GIANNA PASSED OUT IN-FLIGHT

Nothing to complain about regarding our flight.  The girls took a snooze and I watched SPY with Melissa McCarthy on my phone.  Love that movie -so funny!!!

Another great coupe was my rental car deal.  I got a great deal by pre-paying with Dollar and my rate for nearly two weeks was a total of $360!!!  Albeit, it's a compact car and bit small, but who cares!! We fit all the luggage and there was enough room for the three of us!!

Waking up to the lovely sunshine and warm weather was a delight!  I headed to the grocery store, while Grandpa and Kelsey took little Mikey on a walk.

The rest of the day will be spent relaxing and getting a few things on the calendar for the rest of the stay here in Boca Raton.

My sissy and nephews arrive tomorrow night, so I'm sure things will get a little noisier and crazier with the four kids together.
