Look Who's Cookin'!HI there!!! Hope you are having the start of a great weekend! Today is really going to be a fun day - I'm taking a cooking class with Gianna at A La Carte Cooking School in Lynbrook. When I saw they had a Grown-up and Kids class, I knew it would be a great bonding experience. So, I will do my best to photograph and capture some of the experience we have together. Will post some pictures tomorrow!! Here is the Class Menu for today: - Cherry Tomatoes Stuffed with Tomato and Basil - Baked Honey Sesame Chicken - Grilled Potatoes and Arugula with Dijon Vinaigrette - Homemade Strawberry Shortcake From what they described, you get broken up in to groups and each group cooks a different part of the meal. It will be a new experience for me!! In keeping with our cooking theme today, please check out some of the posts we have on our social media pages: Cooking Travel Tips, Best Cooking Classes in the World and Culinary Vacations. We will have some more posted as well, so please LIKE and Follow Us if you haven't already!! It is so important to both Tanya and I that we bring you valuable information regarding all aspects of travel and hope that by sharing our experiences and opinions, you gain something from our Daily and our entire site, every day! Please send us suggestions - we want to focus on things that mean the most to you!! The rest of my afternoon, I will more than likely be relaxing with the kids - possibly go to the pool. I do plan to spend some time outside with them. I think bike riding is in order! I had to pass on the Hamptons this weekend. I'm just not up for the driving and bouncing around. Although I know Tedd was disappointed, because a beautiful weekend is predicted. Well, we will be out there next weekend. Sometimes things don't always go as planned. So, my dear peeps, have a wonderful day, enjoy yourself and make sure you eat something you love today!! -E | And the fun continues!Today marks the end of our lake vacation, we'll go out once more on a fun boat trip, the kids will get a bit of paddle boating, and kayaking in. Then we'll stop at Funspot on our way out (we decided against it yesterday when we were reminded that some cousins who hadn't been up here all week were coming to share the day visiting with us!) Our last stop before we leave Lake Winnipesaukee will be getting a postcard mailed and postmarked from Sophie C. (the oldest floating post office in the United States). The rest of our day will be filled with more visiting in the towns of Raymond, NH & Bedford, NH. We're making our annual visit to the kids paternal grandpa. He's a rather negative, difficult and hermit like man; so we'll see how that goes! Yesterday was filled with lots more fun at the lake, where the kids were running around laughing and playing, like the never ending balls of energy that they are! Early in the evening a water balloon fight had broke out, I tried to stay out of it, and I was doing a rather good job...until I obviously stood in the way of Dominic's master plan to get my cousin (who had been like a ninja in not getting hit), and as I was posing for a photo all of a sudden SPLAT I was soaked! In the evening, we had all headed over to the boardwalk to see the Fireworks show, some by boat, others at the docks and all to cap off the night with a bang! What fun it's been! And although we had a smaller crowd this year and it was more on the intimate side (20ish on any given day), it was just perfect for me! I actually think that this has been my favorite year so far! Fireworks and Strawberry Shortcake - those are definitely two things that have summer written all over them to me! I can't wait to hear about how Elisa and Gianna's cake turns out! I hope that everyone out there is having a fabulous summer; but I guess if you're in the southern hemisphere it's actually your winter, so I wish you a cozy one! I'll see all you wonderful people back here tomorrow for some more fun! -T |
