I've been wondering to myself if there can be anything else packed into this day! It begins with Kelsey's May Crowning. With her communion last week, her school is celebrating the May Crowning at 9:00 mass. She will be all dressed up again in her adorable communion dress. This church celebration will be followed by a breakfast at the school, with all the other second graders and their families. If that's not a days' worth of events in itself, it also happens to be Gianna's 10th Birthday as well as my Dad's 79th. It was a real joy to have given birth to her on my dad's birthday, but 2 birthdays on one day is a lot (especially, when I haven't even gotten Dad a gift yet! - add that to my to do list today!). Gianna wanted to bring a special Mrs. Field's Cookie cake into school to share with her friends and teachers, so that has to be brought into school when I drop her and Kelsey off at 8am (before I head to the church for the May Crowning).
Did I mention that tomorrow (May 17th) is Rebecca's 24th birthday? Yup - 3 birthdays in 2 days. (Another gift I have to get today! Thank goodness, I got Gianna's gift in advance, one less to get today). Now, while I'm at the May Crowning, the birthday cake I ordered for the triple birthday celebration will be delivered to my house - my housekeeper Sheila is a Godsend, so she will be there to accept delivery. After May Crowning, I will head over to get the gifts and need to get back in time to get the kids off the bus at 2:30. Then Gianna will have 5 friends over after school for pizza and left over cookie cake. And just as they are leaving, the rest of the family will be coming over for dinner, followed by cake!
Wow - I should be about ready to pass out. I did have time to work on Part 2 of Elisa & Tanya's New Mexico Road Trip, which I hope you enjoy!! Happy Friday!! ~E
Lots of chores for us on both coasts today! Elisa is going to go birthday crazy on the east coast, while here on the west coast I have sooo much to do before I'm ready to leave for this evening's getaway and of course by now we all know how much I just love getting away! Yippie! So where am I off to tonight? Taking the ferry from Long Beach to Santa Catalina Island; It's only a mere 22 miles south-southwest of LA, and yet I haven't been there in years! Like we're talking back in my pk (pre-kids) days! Dave and I are registered to pedal away in the Catalina Island Gran Fondo Mountain Bike Tour tomorrow morning. And thank God the weather over there is cooler than it has been over here - because I'll tell you one thing - I wouldn't be doing this or any other bike ride in these uber high temperatures...that's for damn sure! I thouroghly enjoyed the mountain biking last weekend in Moab, so my hope is that I will at least enjoy this ride even half as much (fingers crossed). Mountain biking is definitely more of Dave's thing... I like to think of it this way - Dave drags me up hills (mtn biking) and I drag him down them (skiing), but that's not to say that I don't enjoy myself on a good mountain biking trail - when there's great scenery, good weather, and we can't forget about those fun downhills!

As for now, well it's time to go get my nails done. Mountain Biking and the perfect manicure! That's right...don't judge ;) But go ahead - you can laugh!!
