Fog City on a Friday!
What an eventful day yesterday turned out to be!
I was super busy all day long, right up until catching my flight - I even managed to throw in a bonus and do a load of laundry in all my craziness.
My feature photo/post that I mentioned to you guys a couple of days ago was published on the VeganFoodShare website as well as on their Instagram page and last I checked it received 1376 likes! Sooo exciting! I hope that some of those fans share the love here on Travelin Cousins; Elisa & I will be thrilled to have you as readers/subscribers! So based on all the love of my Donut Sundae, I decided to change my original Foodie Fridays blog restaurant from Freesoul Caffe (which will be an upcoming FF to look forward to) to...Dun-Well!
Waking up in San Francisco this morning, completely energized I rolled right out of bed, headed to the hotel fitness room, then off to breakfast and then to take in some sights & sounds of the city, before going to catch the Giants play this evening. *Birdwald, who was born and raised in Mountain View (one of the bay cities/towns) has never once been to a Giants game! Like he says - he's never been to as many baseball games in his life! Lol
Then after the ball game we are driving up to Mendocino (3-4hrs)...it's gonna be a L o n g day! Definitely my style!
Hope you have some great or even not so great plans for the holiday weekend. Whatever you decide, and wherever you are - I hope you enjoy
it and take something from it (I'm NOT taking about stealing) lol
Until tomorrow. Peace out!
Kicking off the summer this weekend with Jones Beach Air Show
Well, this weekend officially kicks off summer! It's okay to now wear white pants and white shoes, ladies!! Both Tanya and I have busy weekends. While Tanya will spending a fun-filled weekend up in Mendocino, CA, (which she headed out for already last night), I will be spending the weekend on Long Island, in Remsenburg. I can't wait to read Tanya's blog updates throughout the weekend! Also, remember to read today's Foodie Fridays edition, featuring an incredible Vegan Donut Shop!!
Tomorrow morning is our regular Saturday morning routine with horseback riding for the girls. This always gets us up and out very early. I heard that tomorrow is not supposed to be such a great weather day, here on Long Island, so I'm planning to spend most of the day curled up with a nice cup of hot tea and my laptop to write a number of travel articles! I will be doing our next installment of Elisa's New Mexico Road Trip Part 3, which I will be posting tomorrow. If you missed our previous posts on this exciting upcoming trip, check our Part 1 and Part 2. I'm also going to be catching up on an online "Internet" webinar course I'm taking. The past few weeks have been so busy, I've fallen behind. As I said, I'm not a real techie, so I'm trying to learn as much as I can about the nuances of having an internet site, so we can continue to improve Travelin' Cousins and make it more enjoyable!
Now, Sunday, on the other hand is supposed to be beautiful, so we will be attending the annual Memorial Day weekend Jones Beach Air Show . I'm really excited about this, as it will be the first time we have attended. I will be doing a full story with lots of pictures of this event!! If you are interested in attending this year, it takes place tomorrow and Sunday (May 24 & 25, 2014) from 10am to 3pm.
Admission Price is FREE and the Parking Cost is $10.00. Be sure to get there early! In past years, this show has had more than 200,000 people attend on a single day!! Even the parking lots fill up early and when this occurs, the parkways are closed and people are turned away. Therefore, pack up your cooler and get on the road as early as you possibly can. All information can be found on the above link.
Well, before the rain starts, I'm gonna go on my daily "forest gump" walk!!
