Heading to Denver? Go to City O City!

Located in the heart of Denver and by that I mean right down the street from the state capitol, you'll find City O City.

A hip and happening mostly vegan restaurant/bar. A perfect spot for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night grub! My gang has been hitting up City O City for years - pretty much every time that we're in Denver.

From the time that you walk in, your eyes will fix upon the amazing looking desserts in the sweet case, you'll feel a magnetic pull in that direction, but you'll want to get a table first and eat some of the yummerlicious savory foods before diving into dessert...unless you are a dessert first type of person.

The space is eclectically decorated and split into two rooms, the front room has a "lounge type" of area, a coffee bar, a community table, and some of the smaller tables. While the rear room has a full bar, and therefore can at times get quite a bit louder, some of the four tops and tables equipped to serving larger parties, as well as local art work hanging on the walls that is rotated  and up for sale.

Now as for the food...
Some of our favorites happen to be the small plates (appetizer menu) - and they serve up some of the BEST darn Poutine around, and that goes not only for around the USA, but in Canada too.
While I obviously cannot attest to the non-vegan versions of the Canadian staple, I have ordered the vegan version every time I see it on a menu, and I'm telling you that City O City knows how to ROCK this dish!
I'm not even a fry-gal, but these fries smothered in their OUT OF THIS WORLD gravy and then generously topped with their in house made Cashew Ricotta is just WOW good! Trust me you want to order it!

Another favorite is the house made pretzel with the vegan cheese fondue - there are other options that you can order, but YOU MUST eat it with the delicious bowlful of vegan fondue. It's like magic juice, I could seriously drink the stuff (I'm not actually admitting to drinking it...unless you've seen me do it).
Oh gawd, I seriously will not send that bowl back with even a ounce left in it - and by ounce I mean drop!

And the list goes on and on of delicious and innovative menu items, everything from Waffles to Pasta, to Soups, Salads, and Sandwiches. I've never had a bad meal.
Over the years the atmosphere and owners have changed, but they must've kept the same cooks in the kitchen to serve up such tasty and filling dishes.

But overall, it really doesn't matter what you order, you should and will be more than satisfied...just be sure that you save room for some of that tasty dessert!

Bon Appetit,
