1. Two Mile Hollow Beach at East Hampton

This is one of the prime beaches to visit when you are in East Hampton. The major beach in East Hampton is no doubt great but for a better experience, Two Mile Hollow beach is where you need to be. Strangely declared as the unofficial gay beach in Hampton, this beach draws a diverse but steady number of crowds every year, consisting mostly of the hip and the young.
There is no free parking on the beach. You have to pay a permit of 30 dollars to park your car in among the capacity of forty cars max. The beach is close to the East Hampton village train station that gives it a feel of the Cape Cod.
A few steps away and you are on the way to the Guild Hall. This place is worth visiting for its movies and concerts and the arts center performances, along with the occasional concerts that are a real crowd-puller.
If you are more of a person interested in relics and ancient history, there is also a museum founded in the year 1897 and houses the rarest artifacts of that village. For the tummy, you can hop on to the famous Nick & Toni’s that boasts the likes of Alec Baldwin and Jimmy Falcon dropping by regularly to catch a bite. You can also stay at East Hampton NY hotels located near to the beaches.

This is an open long beach with no such hideouts and everything in plain sight, reasons for celebs to avoid this place unless there’s work or other forms of compulsion. But for the common visitors, this place if bundled with younger energy and excitement.
Do not worry, the stands here sell Gatorade if that’s where your thought is trailing into. It is a perfect place if you want the young energy and ambiance but a lesser crowd and hustle. You can just walk down to the beach or bring your car but be forewarned, they charge 25 dollars per car for a parking permit. To get here, a ride on the Long Island Rail Road is less than three hours from Penn Station, NYC and the Amagansett train station is a twenty-minute walk to the beach.
To explore the area more, bikes are available for rental for pedal around to check the studio houses of Lee Krasner and Jackson Pollock. And who knows, you might find them chilling on the porch! Later into the day you can munch some fried chicken from the Brent’s or have some exotic Mexican food from the streets. Before calling it a night, hop over to the Stephen Talkhouse which is a much in demand place for open mic performances and parties. Another option is The Baker House 1650 which offers great services and located in one of the most desirable locations to stay.

Since it is a beach close to the NYC - roughly two hours by train to the Speonk station or by car, many city dwellers find it an ideal escape to spend the weekend to just chill or go fishing. Note however, fishing is not permitted at night.
Being it is located in close proximity to the city, you might want to drop in early if you want a parking spot and most importantly, to enjoy the beautiful sunrise. As mentioned, fishing is against the law after the sun goes down but walking on the beach after sunset is free and if lucky, you might see a live music gig during your stroll.

Montauk offers a wide range of sightseeing but you won’t do justice to its list if you do not visit the Ditch Plains beach. If you are adventurous and love high waves, this place is for you. Situated at the tip of the South Fork, this is where surfers come. It does not matter if you are a pro or just a beginner.
